We are now looking for a Locomotive Fleet Manager who wants to ensure that we have the right locomotives, at the right time, and at the right cost, to meet our business needs.

What you will do here
As Locomotive Fleet Manager, you play a central role in ensuring that our locomotive fleet is optimized based on the business's needs, both in the short and long term. You combine analysis, commercial viability, and technical understanding, working both strategically and operationally.
You are responsible for, among other things:
- Contributing to the development of Green Cargo's vehicle strategy
- Analyzing and optimizing the locomotive fleet based on needs, availability, and cost-effectiveness
- Managing the acquisition and disposal of locomotives, such as through purchase, rental, sale, or scrapping
- Handling contracts, invoicing, and follow-up related to the rental of locomotives
- Monitoring market prices and developments in the locomotive market
- Ensuring that relevant data and documentation regarding the locomotive fleet are up to date
- Maintaining and developing collaborations with leasing companies and other external parties
- Participating in customer teams and contributing to issues related to locomotives and capacity
In this role, you work closely with several parts of the business and actively contribute to creating efficient and commercially viable solutions for our traffic.

We see that you have
Requirements
- Relevant higher education or university degree, for example in technology or economics
- At least 5 years of experience in technical or commercial work within the railway industry
- Good negotiation skills
- Good IT competence and familiarity with the Office suite
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Merits
- Experience from working with a railway operator
- Experience in procurement or business negotiations
- Knowledge of different types of locomotives and how they are used in the railway network
Other information
The position is a permanent full-time employment with an initial probationary period, start date to be agreed upon. Place of work with Stockholm as the preferred location, other alternatives can be discussed. Travel is included in the position.
As part of the recruitment process, we use tests and final candidates undergo background checks. We are a drug- and alcohol-free workplace where random checks occur. Employment entails an obligation to be placed on the war establishment.

We deliver sustainable logistics solutions and are an important part of Scandinavian business. Our transport work amounted to 8.6 billion net ton-kilometers in 2025. Almost 98 percent of our total transport work is carried out with electric locomotives where the electricity comes exclusively from fossil-free sources.
