The Military Intelligence and Security Service (Must) provides the Government and the Swedish Armed Forces with qualified decision support regarding global developments and threats to the security of Sweden and the Armed Forces. Must's internal security department directs, supports, and handles security matters within areas such as personnel security, physical security, signal security, and information and IT security.

Main Responsibilities

  • Leads and develops the section within physical security, responsible for operations, personnel, budget, and competence supply
  • Establishes structures, develops working methods, and ensures quality, follow-up, and continuous development
  • Handles strategic and operational security issues, including complex cases, changing threat landscapes, and in-depth analyses
  • Collaborates with Must's Security Chief, internal functions, and external actors, and conducts active monitoring of the external environment regarding security protection and physical security
  • Participates in the department's management group and contributes to strategic choices, prioritizations, and the development of Must's physical security

Qualifications

  • University degree or officer education, or other experience deemed relevant by the employer
  • Documented experience in a managerial or leadership position with responsibility for personnel and operations
  • Several years of experience in qualified security work, for example within security protection, physical security, or protection of vital and security-sensitive operations
  • Good experience in steering, coordinating, and following up on security work
  • Good ability to express oneself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English
  • Valid driver's license (Category B)

Merits

  • Work experience from the Swedish Armed Forces, another defense or security authority, or from work in security-classified operations
  • Leadership training or other relevant management education
  • Security training from the Swedish Armed Forces, university, or university college, or alternatively relevant professional experience in the area deemed relevant by the employer
  • Experience with security protection legislation, security protection analysis, and security protection planning
  • Knowledge of risk management and protective measures
  • Experience of collaboration with other authorities or security organizations

You are confident in your leadership and have the ability to make well-founded decisions even under uncertainty and in security-sensitive contexts. You have a structured working method, good collaboration skills, and an ease in creating trusting relationships. You are motivated by building and developing operations over time and see the value of combining strategic thinking with practical feasibility, taking responsibility for both results and people. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
