Your responsibilities

As a support assistant, you work in group housing within the LSS (Act for Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) with people who have a disability. The duties include providing support and services to the individual based on individual needs and applicable methods. This involves care-related work, all household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, planning with grocery shopping, as well as ensuring that the individual has a good leisure offer and a good standard of living.

You will have scheduled working hours including day, evening, and weekend shifts. Västervik Municipality offers a desired degree of employment, which means you choose an employment degree between 50-100%. You may have resource days on your schedule, and times may change on these days.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who have adequate upper secondary or post-secondary education focused on social work, social studies/nanny, assistant nurse, and youth leader, etc. Experience working with people in the field of neuropsychiatry is desirable.

We place great emphasis on social competence and personal suitability. You must have good self-awareness and be secure in yourself. The position requires that you are responsive and have good ability to cooperate with users, colleagues, and relatives. You need to be able to plan your work to meet the users' needs. You are flexible and able to adapt quickly to changes in operations.

A positive attitude and good treatment are very important. We value commitment to the work and a desire to contribute to the best interests of the operation and the individual.

The position requires basic IT skills to work with the systems we use for record keeping, etc. You must also have basic knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing.
