Job Description

We are looking for a meticulous and innovative Mechanical Engineer to join our product development team in Sundsvall. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical components and systems that drive our product innovation forward. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform concepts into market-ready solutions, while maintaining the highest possible standards for quality and efficiency.

• Design and develop mechanical components and units using CAD software, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and industry standards
• Conduct technical analyses and simulations (FEA, stress analysis, thermal modeling) to validate designs and optimize performance
• Collaborate with product managers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth product development and successful implementation
• Analyze and solve complex technical problems through systematic troubleshooting and innovative approaches
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and technical reports
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve product quality and manufacturability
• Evaluate manufacturing processes and material selection to balance performance, cost, and production efficiency
• Support prototype development, testing, and validation throughout the product lifecycle
• Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering
• Contribute to continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives within the development team

Qualifications

Required Competencies and Experience:

• Strong knowledge of mechanical CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or equivalent)
• Extensive knowledge of the product development cycle and principles of technical design
• Experience with technical analysis tools and simulation programs (FEA, CFD, or similar)
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, materials science, and material selection
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail
• Experience working in cross-functional teams
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Documented ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Experience with agile or iterative product development methods
• Knowledge of quality assurance, test protocols, and validation procedures
• Familiarity with industry standards and legal requirements relevant to mechanical design
• Experience with 3D printing, rapid prototyping, or advanced manufacturing techniques
• Background in manufacturing, automotive industry, industrial equipment, or similar technical environments
• Experience with project management tools and collaborative design platforms
• Knowledge of cost analysis and design-for-manufacturability principles
