Do you want to contribute to increased competitiveness for small and medium-sized enterprises across the country? Do you thrive in an environment where capital provision meets industrial policy and regional development? Then this might be the role for you!

At Tillväxtverket (the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth), we work for competitive businesses and sustainable development in all parts of Sweden. We offer knowledge, networks, and opportunities for investment. This provides direct benefits to businesses, as well as the prerequisites for companies, municipalities, and regions to meet future challenges. Tillväxtverket is a national authority with a regional presence in nine locations.

The Division for Business and Regional Development works to promote business competitiveness and sustainable regional and rural development throughout the country. We strive to achieve the government's goals for industrial policy, regional development policy, and cohesive rural policy. The division is also responsible for parts of the authority's emergency preparedness tasks within industry and trade.

The Capital Provision Unit works for more and growing businesses throughout Sweden, focusing on capital provision, innovation, the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises, and the green transition of business. We participate in the implementation of the EU's Regional Fund, with a particular focus on financing opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises. In this work, we manage regional and national venture capital funds to strengthen access to financing where the market falls short. We are now looking for a temporary case officer who wants to contribute to our work in strengthening businesses' financing opportunities throughout Sweden.

About the position

The role involves contributing, both independently and as part of a team, to the management, analysis, and development of the funds for which Tillväxtverket is responsible. The work includes ongoing processing of Tillväxtverket's venture capital projects, producing analyses, decision support materials, and reports, as well as participating in the procurement of services. You will follow up on implemented measures, communicate results to relevant target groups, and contribute to developing and spreading knowledge about capital provision based on business needs and regional conditions. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other divisions within the authority, as well as with other authorities, fund managers, regional actors, and other relevant organizations.

You will actively participate in the authority's development work aimed at streamlining and improving the implementation of our tasks, with a continuous focus on quality, structure, and results. Other related tasks may also be included in the position.

Travel is included in the position.

Your place of work is: Stockholm

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university or college education equivalent to at least three years of study in, for example, social sciences, economics, or engineering/technology.
  • At least three years of experience in qualified case processing work at a government authority or other public organization within an area relevant to industrial policy or regional development policy.
  • Experience working with materials containing economic and/or legal content.
  • Experience working independently and in a development-oriented manner, as well as being accustomed to analyzing and drawing conclusions in a work context.
  • Good ability to analyze, structure, and document your work, as well as to produce decision support materials and reports.
  • Good ability to handle digital tools and to work in digital environments.
  • Good communication skills in speech and writing in Swedish and English.

The following are meritorious:

  • Experience working with the EU's Structural Funds programs.
  • Experience working with capital provision at the national level.
  • Work experience in policy development or strategic work within industrial policy, sustainable development, or regional development.
  • Knowledge of business promotion organizations and the business promotion system, as well as good familiarity with regional actors.

As a person, we are looking for you who work in a structured, professional manner with a clear focus on results.
