As the Communications Officer specializing in Rakel, you will work on creating conditions for information sharing to support decision-making and collaboration, together with colleagues in Unit C6, the Support Systems Unit.

Your responsibilities and tasks

The Communications Officer (SA) has functional responsibility with a focus on planning, management, and application of Rakel within the agency and serves as a support for questions regarding collaboration, methods, and routines in Rakel. The Communications Officer is responsible for ensuring that the organization's Rakel users have sufficient knowledge and skills regarding the Rakel system through training and exercises, based on the organization's needs. The role also includes being the organization's contact person for questions from other collaborating actors. Currently, the role is limited to the Rakel communication system, but the role will gradually need to be developed based on the introduction of Rakel G2 and SWEN (the Swedish Emergency Network). You will play an important role in this development work.

Examples of tasks included in the role:

• Overall responsibility for coordinating the agency's handling and use of Rakel and providing expert support.
• Lead the work of the agency's coordination group in ensuring management and development.
• Ensure that users, authorized requesters, and authorized contact persons are trained and exercised.
• Contribute to the agency's work related to the introduction of SWEN (the Swedish Emergency Network).
• Contribute to the agency's communication planning across the entire threat spectrum.

In the role, you will work with all operations within the agency, giving you broad and deep knowledge of the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency's collective work.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for you who have:

• Very good knowledge of Rakel regarding technology, methods, and communication planning.
• An academic degree or other education relevant to the position that the employer assesses as equivalent.
• Experience working in an operation where high demands are placed on information security and security protection.
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience in planning and conducting training.
• Experience and good knowledge within signal protection.

About the employment

We offer you a permanent full-time position starting with a probationary period.

Your place of work will be Karlstad or Stockholm, and travel during employment occurs.

The majority of our positions involve placement in a security class. Swedish citizenship is usually required. In the event of placement in a security class, a security investigation with register check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Most employees at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency are war-placed.

About us

Unit C6, the Support Systems Unit within the Department for Operational Planning and Management, is a newly formed unit with employees in both Karlstad and Stockholm. The unit has, among other things, the task of supporting the agency's operational command system with communication planning, representing needs related to command posts and technical support systems. Since the unit is under construction, there are good opportunities to influence future processes and working methods.
