The Unit for Criminal Cases and International Legal Cooperation
Do you have experience working with administrative issues and assistant tasks? Do you thrive in a service-oriented role and want to work in a political environment? As our new colleague, you will enjoy a varied day with personal responsibility in a dynamic and stimulating environment.
Your working day. Sweden's tomorrow.
As a Secretariat Secretary at the Unit for Criminal Cases and International Legal Cooperation, you will have the opportunity to further sharpen your already successful skills. The Unit works, among other things, with legislation, negotiations, and administrative matters concerning international legal cooperation in criminal and civil cases.
The secretariat at Ju/BIRS has a very important administrative function, especially regarding the unit's case management. The tasks vary in both content and complexity. Some tasks are of a simpler nature, such as case registration, handling incoming mail, archiving, and copying, while other tasks are more qualified and require an understanding of the criminal law context in which the tasks are performed. The secretariat has daily contact with other units, ministries, Swedish and foreign authorities, as well as the general public. In addition, the secretariat administers the unit's government cases and assists in the unit's legislative work.
Case processing takes place within the framework of a team system where the secretary works closely with the legal case handler. The work pace is sometimes high, and several different tasks may need to be handled simultaneously, which places high demands on stress tolerance, efficiency, and structure. Furthermore, one must be able to quickly find creative solutions, be meticulous, and act independently.
Your background
You have a completed upper secondary education combined with current, documented experience of administrative work within the judiciary or the Government Offices. The role requires very good language skills in Swedish and English. It is an advantage if you have post-secondary paralegal education. Current experience of administrative work from a general court or the Public Prosecution Authority is also advantageous as it will facilitate your quick entry into the role. Furthermore, experience of working within the unit's area of responsibility is an advantage.
Your qualities
The Government Offices' employee criteria are holistic view, development, and results.
Everyone working at the Government Offices needs to have a holistic view and collaborate for the benefit of the operations. You are expected to contribute your perspective and competence and be open to others. You will bring ideas and new approaches to improve and develop the operations and your own competence. You are results-oriented in your actions and adapt when needs and directions change.
For you to thrive as an employee, you need to be able to plan and structure your work independently and prioritize between different tasks, in addition to your meticulous administrative skills. The work pace is sometimes high, and several different tasks may need to be handled simultaneously, which places high demands on stress tolerance, efficiency, and creativity. Furthermore, one must be able to handle a dynamic environment with many different contact surfaces both within and outside the Government Offices. To be successful in this role, you therefore need to be service-oriented and flexible, have an easy time collaborating, and have a high sense of quality.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
