We are looking for you who want to help shape tomorrow's Ale. Here, you deliver service and services of the highest quality to the residents of Ale. Together, 2,500 employees create an Ale, a municipality focused on its citizens and their needs. Join us!
About the workplace
Welcome to apply for an exciting position! You will be placed at a lower secondary school (grades 1-3) in the municipality. Your closest colleagues will be the staff at the schools, but you will be part of a network with other student coordinators located at middle schools. We are a unit that currently has six positions at each middle school in Ale municipality, and we also have a coordinator responsible for coordinating collaboration. This initiative is political and aims to reduce absenteeism in the municipality. Now we want student coordinators at lower secondary schools as well. Do you want to make a difference? We are now looking for two fixed-term positions at two lower secondary schools: Nödingeskolan and Garnvindeskolan.
Job Description
As a student coordinator, you are a central part of the school's preventive and promoting work for safety and study environment. You create this primarily through relationship building. You are where the students are – in the morning, in the hallway, at recess, in the classroom, and at lunch. You catch what is bothering students before it becomes a big issue and build trust where it is lacking.
Examples of tasks may include:
- Welcome students in the morning and create a safe start to the day.
- Hold individual student meetings – listen, support, motivate.
- Work with conflict resolution in the moment and over time.
- Handle "friction" in the class and group – prevent, calm, repair.
- Participate in pedagogical lunches.
- Build relationships and collaborate with guardians.
- Mediate between students, and between student and school.
- Work with values in collaboration with EHT (Student Health Team) or Leisure Centre, for example by building structures around recess or in gaps between activities.
You work closely with teachers, student health services, and school leadership, with the student's best interest as the obvious starting point. The principal is your closest supervisor, and the tasks may vary depending on the school's needs.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. You should have an education as a social worker (socionom) or social pedagogue, or equivalent. You need to be relationship-competent and stable in this role and have a good ability to meet students in affect, anxiety, or resistance. You should be able to set boundaries with both warmth and clarity. The assignment is dynamic and sometimes unpredictable; you need to thrive in this and see small progress as big victories.
Experience from school, student support, social work, leisure activities, or similar is meritorious, but personal suitability is decisive.
Other
The position is fixed-term until the turn of the year.
Start date by agreement.
A valid extract from the criminal record register must be shown, via digital mailbox via email or to the responsible recruiter when you meet in the final phase (the extract must be valid within 1 year).
