The Department of Clinical Neuroscience (CNS) is one of Karolinska Institutet's largest departments, with approximately 520 employees and 670 affiliated researchers, including about 250 registered doctoral students. Our operations offer a unique environment where you work alongside teachers and researchers in many fields of international excellence.
The central administration at CNS provides administrative support to the department's research groups and educational programs. Here, you will find staff working within finance, HR, archives, IT, as well as educational and doctoral training support. The Finance Unit consists of eleven employees, economists, and financial administrators, led by our Finance Manager. We are located in bright and fresh premises with easy access to all campus facilities.
Your role
You will be part of the Finance Unit, supporting operations with all types of financial matters, including responsibility for budgeting and financial follow-up of research group finances, as well as other financial administration. We are now looking for you who want to work as an economist in an international, educational, and outstanding organization.
Your main tasks will include:
- Creating and communicating budgets for larger research groups
- Managing external funding agreements and contract databases
- Performing monthly reconciliations
- Developing your own and the group's operations
The role also involves following up on research groups' grants, activities, and projects, as well as other tasks occurring within the Finance Unit. We work in the financial system Unit4.
The position is full-time for 1 year, with a planned start after the summer vacation.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who have a university or college degree in economics. You should also have experience in accounting, either through studies or work experience. You must have very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. We also expect you to have good skills in Excel.
You work well both independently and in a team, and you take responsibility for the overall result. You will have extensive contact with our researchers, which requires a high level of service orientation, good communication skills, and strong collaboration skills. As a person, you are meticulous, structured, and driven. You also need to be flexible and have the ability to quickly adapt to new tasks. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
