About Us
Region Sörmland is responsible for areas that are important to everyone who lives, works, and operates in Sörmland. The region must ensure that the inhabitants of Sörmland have access to equal high-quality healthcare and dental care, a well-functioning public transport system, a rich cultural offering, and a good environment.
The Finance Department owns, operates, coordinates, develops, manages, and anchors the region's overarching economic processes and financial tools.
The Accounting Unit is Region Sörmland's accounting unit that serves all operations and companies with common accounting processes. The processes include supplier and customer accounts, accounting, reminders and collection matters, as well as system administration for the management product "Economy". We are 29 employees carrying out this mission. We now need reinforcement for the office in Eskilstuna.
Do you want to help develop future working methods for a secure and sustainable welfare? We are now looking for a driven and analytical economist for our accounting unit. Here, you will have a central role in strengthening our work against welfare crime, while contributing your expertise to overarching accounting issues.
Your Responsibilities
As an economist here, you will work broadly within the accounting field, with a special focus on:
- Creating routines and working methods for how the accounting unit should work against welfare crime
- Providing support to the Accounting Manager in overarching accounting and annual report issues.
- Providing support to the Group Manager for customer and supplier accounts in matters concerning overarching work processes, follow-up, and development of routines
- Providing support and being an expert in the VAT area
- Analyzing and following up on economic transactions and processes
- Support in monthly and annual accounts as well as other accounting-related tasks
- Participating in development projects and improvement work
You will become an important part of the unit and will collaborate closely with colleagues in finance, internal control, and other relevant functions.
Your Competence
We are looking for you who have:
- Relevant degree from higher education in economics or equivalent
- Experience of working within accounting
- Good knowledge of the Office package
- Very good knowledge of Swedish, spoken and written
It can be meritorious if you have:
- Experience of working with welfare crime, internal governance and control, or similar areas
- If you have worked within the public sector
- Previous experience of our economic system Raindance

Employment Terms
Permanent employment with start date as agreed.
Working hours: Weekdays 8:00 – 17:00.
