Job Responsibilities

As an operating room nurse, you will receive a basic placement and work at one of the operating department's units. You have great opportunities to become a specialist within your home section and be responsible for your own area of responsibility based on your own interest and competence. With us, you will broaden your knowledge and gain basic competence for our most common procedures. You will be part of the patient team, which together with you consists of a nursing assistant, an anesthetic nurse, and a doctor.

Working Hours

We offer work in our round-the-clock operation with a time valuation model of 37 hours per week. Region Västmanland also provides increased compensation for inconvenient working hours to nurses, midwives, radiographers, and biomedical analysts.

About the Workplace

The operating clinic is responsible for all surgical care in Västmanland. Parts of the day surgery activity are carried out at the hospital in Köping. The more extensive surgery, both acute and elective, takes place in Västerås. The operating activity consists of surgery, urology, gynecology, robotic surgery, orthopedics, vascular surgery, and ear-nose-throat surgery. There are a total of 23 operating rooms at the clinic, with four rooms in Köping and 18 rooms in Västerås.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and have a specialist nurse education with a focus on operating room care. You who are at the end of your specialist education are also welcome to apply. It is meritorious if you have previously worked as an operating room nurse at the operating department, but it is not a requirement. If you have also worked in the medical record system Cosmic or Orbit, we see it as meritorious. Since our work is often governed by documents in Swedish, you need to have good knowledge of the language, both in speech and in writing.

You who apply are secure and stable as a person. We see that you plan and structure your work, as well as that you can quickly reprioritize and adapt to changed circumstances when the situation requires it. You have a good ability to collaborate with others by listening and communicating in a clear and constructive manner.

Working hours: Schedule with rotation towards day, evening, night, weekend

Location: Västerås

Start date after agreement.
