Responsibilities

As an Anesthesia Nurse, you will have a primary placement and work at one of the operating department's units. You have great opportunities to become a specialist within your home section and take responsibility for your own area of expertise based on your interests and competencies. With us, you will broaden your knowledge and rotate through all our units, with the possibility of rotating to the pre- and post-operative wards as well.

The role includes working at external units when there is a need for anesthesiological assistance. The Anesthesia Nurse is part of the hospital's emergency chain and participates in ambulance transports of patients to other hospitals requiring a different level of care. You will be part of the patient care team together with assistant nurses, operating department practitioners, and doctors.

Working Hours

We offer work in our 24/7 operations with a time valuation model of 37 hours per week. Region Västmanland also provides increased compensation for inconvenient working hours for nurses, midwives, radiographers, and biomedical analysts.

About the Workplace

The Operating Department is responsible for all surgical care in Västmanland. Parts of the day surgery operations are carried out at the hospital in Köping. The more extensive surgery, both emergency and elective, takes place in Västerås. The surgical operations consist of general surgery, urology, gynecology, robotic surgery, orthopedics, vascular surgery, and ENT surgery. There are a total of 23 operating rooms at the clinic, with four in Köping and 18 in Västerås.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and have a specialist nurse education with a focus on anesthesiology. It is meritorious if you have previously worked as an Anesthesia Nurse in the operating department, but it is not a requirement. If you have also worked in the medical record system Cosmic or Orbit, we see this as meritorious. Since our work is often governed by documents in Swedish, you need to have good knowledge of the language, both spoken and written.

You who apply are secure and stable as a person. We see that you plan and structure your work, as well as that you can quickly reprioritize and adapt to changed circumstances when the situation requires it. You have a good ability to collaborate with others by listening and communicating in a clear and constructive manner.
