We are looking for an analyst to provide analyses and support for data-driven maintenance decisions for base maintenance on the East Coast Line (Ostkustbanan) for the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket).

This is a consulting assignment. The workplace is located in Gävle.

The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

We are seeking a Data Specialist for a consulting role within data-driven and condition-based railway maintenance on the East Coast Line. The role involves working with operational and applied analysis of data from the railway infrastructure to contribute to more efficient management, development, and improvement of maintenance work. The assignment is carried out in close collaboration with the operational management and development platform within Trafikverket.

Responsibilities

• Identify, collect, compile, analyze, and visualize relevant data regarding the condition of the railway infrastructure and associated datasets.
• Perform operational and applied practical analysis of data from the railway infrastructure at the system and component levels.
• Analyze the function of the railway infrastructure at the individual/component level to determine status, identify early signs of failure, predict degradation rates, and propose corrective actions.
• Analyze the function of the railway infrastructure at the system level to identify causes of systematic failures, system interdependencies, and interacting risks.
• Monitor the implementation and effect of carried-out maintenance measures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the analysis activities.
• Continuously improve and develop existing analytical methods, approaches, and tools.
• Implement and promote the utilization of new data-driven methods and tools in operational activities.
• Act as a resource and partner in operational management.
• Serve as the contact person for contractual matters in the relationship with the client.
• Participate in the development of reporting tools and dashboards.
• Provide analysis expertise and resources in connection with development assignments.
• Transfer knowledge to Trafikverket personnel regarding the tasks performed in the assignment.

Requirements (Mandatory)

1. Applied data analysis for condition-based and predictive maintenance of technical systems

Competence:

• Methods, approaches, and tools for technical data analysis for condition-based and predictive maintenance of technical systems, such as infrastructure facilities or process/manufacturing industries.

Experience:

• At least 3 years of experience within the last 5 years in technical data analysis within the operation and maintenance of complex and interacting technical facilities, e.g., infrastructure facilities or process/manufacturing industries.

Tools:

• Scripted programming languages (e.g., Matlab or Python)
• Knowledge of database management, e.g., SQL

2. Visualization tools and decision support

Competence:

• Development and operation of data flows and tools for interactive visualization, analysis, and decision support.

Experience:

• At least 3 years of experience within the last 5 years in developing visualization tools and decision support systems.

Tools:

• For example, MS Power BI or Qlik Sense

3. Railway knowledge

Competence:

• Knowledge of overall function, infrastructure structure, concepts, and relevant information volumes within the different technical areas of railways (Track, Electrical, and Signaling).

Experience:

• At least 3 years of experience within the last 5 years in technical work with railway infrastructure.

4. Business Development

Competence:

• At least 3 years of experience within the last 5 years in driving business development and structured improvement work.

Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.

Merits
