Marina Läroverket is a upper secondary school in a maritime environment with excellent opportunities to utilize both what the archipelago and the big city have to offer. Approximately 500 students attend the school, taught by competent and dedicated teachers who strive to support and challenge students in their studies, whether in the classroom or aboard one of the school's vessels. The school's pedagogical idea is to alternate theory with practice to give students deeper knowledge and understanding, preparing them well for working life or further studies.

The school offers five upper secondary programs with six specializations:

• A marine biology program (theoretical and practical)
• A marine technology program
• An economics program
• A social sciences program
• A nature tourism program

Marina Läroverket is looking for a special needs teacher, preferably with a focus on mathematics development, to expand our already competent student health team. The school works with several processes aimed at making learning environments accessible and providing students with support and tools that promote goal achievement and clarity. Since the school has a broad field activity and students learn in different environments, situations arise where our educators need to meet adaptations and students are trained to handle more than just classroom situations in their education. This creates interesting challenges both in regular teaching and in relation to students' right to receive the support they need in different situations. It also means that we as educators need to have an open mind, good communication between professions, and an understanding of the challenges we face in everyday life. The school has a student health team consisting of a counselor, school nurse, study and career counselor, special needs teacher for language, writing, and reading development, as well as the principal and deputy principal. The Student Health Team (SHT) meets twice a week and works both operationally and preventively based on the school's prioritized areas and set goals.

We are looking for you who have good knowledge and experience working with students in need of special support. It is an advantage if you have experience and can give examples of tools you have used to guide teachers in situations that have led to increased collegial learning with the student in focus. The position will involve close collaboration with the other special needs teacher and include supervision, support teaching, and collegial learning.

In addition, we believe you have:

• Broad knowledge of how classroom leadership leads to a good learning environment for all students.
• Good subject knowledge.
• Good knowledge of how students' learning processes can be developed based on different methods and digital tools.
• Good knowledge of laws, policy documents, and practice that form the basis of the special educational needs area.
• Good teaching skills and find different ways to reach students' interests in subjects and learning, and skill in conveying these to colleagues.
• Good knowledge of research findings and thoughts on how the special educational needs area can be developed on a scientific basis.
• Ease in collaborating and possessing tools to get groups and teachers to work together towards set development goals.
• Constructive and development-oriented approach and great experience in contributing to group processes.
