In Trelleborg, we work together to build a growing, successful municipality where it is good to live. Our 61 villages and 21 urban districts are creative meeting places bubbling with life. Here, we have ambitions, share our stories, and come as we are. This allows us to welcome others in the same generous and curious way.

Welcome to join the journey!

The Social Services Department's mission is to work with social services and provide support so that everyone in the municipality feels safe and has equal opportunities in life. We want everyone to be able to be active and participate in society. With a focus on respecting the individual's right to decide over their own life, we are responsible for three important areas: care and nursing, support for people with disabilities, and assistance to individuals and families. Our goal is for everyone to receive the support and care they need.

Since everything Trelleborg Municipality does is based on our core values of openness, respect, and responsibility, it is important and crucial that these values are just as obvious to you as they are to us in our work.

The Workplace

As an employee, you will become part of the Nursing Unit in Trelleborg Municipality, a competent and supportive operation where nurses, specialist functions, and other professions work together to create safe and person-centered care. Here, we work closely together and have a climate characterized by collaboration, collegial support, and a shared commitment to developing the municipality's care and nursing.

Your physical starting point is the Nursing Unit in Trelleborg. Here, you collaborate closely with, for example, MAS/MAR (Municipal Advisory Service for Nurses/Physicians), family support, and social secretaries — important partners in daily work. The role involves both on-site work, home visits within the municipality, and contact via phone and digital tools, providing good variation and flexibility in working methods.

We are in a development phase where both the national dementia strategy, the new Social Services Act, and the transition to good and close care create opportunities to shape future dementia work. With us, you contribute to making a concrete difference for people with cognitive illness and their relatives.

We offer you varied and independent work where you get the opportunity to use your specialist competence in practice. You will receive an individually adapted introduction that gives you a secure start in the assignment, as well as the opportunity for municipality-wide benefits.

Responsibilities

In this role, you serve as a central knowledge resource in the municipality's dementia work. You provide support and guidance to people with cognitive illness, their relatives, and staff. The work is characterized by a person-centered approach and is based on creating good collaboration between all involved parties.

You work both independently and together with other professions. The assignment includes mentoring and training staff, as well as participating in patient-facing meetings when necessary. You work from a holistic perspective where coordination in the care chain is of great importance.

Collaboration occurs regularly with primary care, the region, social secretaries, family support, and other relevant actors. You contribute specialist competence in team meetings and participate in the creation of a Coordinated Individual Plan (CIP).

An important part of the role is also actively participating in development work through environmental scanning, identifying areas for improvement, and proposing suggestions. You also participate in professional networks to ensure that the operation maintains a high and current level of knowledge.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with specialist education in dementia, elderly care, or another equivalent education. You have several years of experience working in the dementia field and a clear, documented commitment to the target group. You possess good clinical experience and are familiar with working with the BPSD register.

You have experience in mentoring and training staff and feel secure in an advisory and supportive role towards both staff and collaboration partners.

A B driving license is required for the position.

Merits include: Certified BPSD trainer and knowledge and experience of the operational system Life Care.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. To succeed in the role, we see that you are secure and pedagogical, with the ability to guide others, you create good and trustworthy relationships, and have a good ability to collaborate in teams where you contribute specialist knowledge. Furthermore, you act structured and independently, with a professional and person-centered approach. You see the whole picture regarding the person with cognitive illness and can coordinate efforts based on this. You also engage in improvement and quality work.

Please note that we have removed the personal letter from the application process and replaced it with qualification and selection questions. This is for a more inclusive recruitment process and an efficient candidate experience for you who are applying for a job with us. Your answers will become an important part of our selection work.

In connection with the recruitment work, Trelleborg Municipality has carefully taken a stand on recruitment channels and marketing. We therefore expressly decline contact with media sellers, recruitment sites, and similar.
