JENSEN Komvux is now looking for a teacher in English/Swedish/Swedish as a Second Language for weekend work in Sundsvall.

In Sundsvall, Jensen offers theoretical Komvux (adult education) courses at a distance, at both basic and upper secondary levels. Even students taking distance courses often take exams on-site, and Jensen's students do this at the premises of the education company Asta on weekends in Sundsvall.

Job Description and Responsibilities

Our distance students in Sundsvall take national exams on-site. In the language subjects – English, Swedish, and Swedish as a Second Language – this means they take oral exams on-site. Your main task consists of conducting oral national exams in Swedish as a second language, Swedish, and English (English level 1+2, Swedish/Swedish as a second language level 1+3) over two Saturdays during a five-week period. While you are conducting the oral exams, other exams are taking place in the same room, so you are not working alone.

This work is estimated to take one full Saturday (09:00–16:00) and then retakes the following weekend (10:00–12:00), followed by 3 weeks without exams. The cycle then repeats in a five-week pattern. Additionally, we conduct trials twice a year. Further on, this may also involve discussing the National Test text booklet with Swedish as a Second Language 3 and holding preparatory lessons for the National Test with Swedish as a Second Language 1.

All work shifts are scheduled for weekends, never on weekdays.

If there is interest, there is also the possibility of distance teaching.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have upper secondary qualifications in English and Swedish/Swedish as a second language.

You have experience working with students with different prior knowledge levels and the ability to help each individual reach their set goals. You can adapt your communication to each individual.

You are confident, attentive, and clear in your interaction. You have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others. As a teacher at JENSEN adult education, you need to be an initiative-taking, pedagogical, and communicative person. You have the ability and willingness to be the leader in the classroom.

Employment Type

We are looking for you who want to work as a hourly employee or part-time. The scope of the position may vary depending on the number of students and the needs of the operation. Start date can be immediate or by agreement.
