We are looking for a highly experienced scheduler/part project manager for a long-term consulting assignment within major infrastructure and railway-related projects in Gothenburg. This role is suitable for you who are confident in leading, steering, monitoring, and developing scheduling in complex project environments with many stakeholders, technical branches, and dependencies.
The assignment involves planning, monitoring, and coordination within several parallel projects, primarily linked to railway infrastructure. You will play a central role in creating structure, tracking progress, checking the schedules of consultants and contractors, and supporting project management with decision-making materials, forecasts, and reporting.
Scope and Workplace
The assignment is expected to start on August 10, 2026.
The base location is Gothenburg. Physical presence at the office in Gothenburg is required five days a week. During production phases, work on-site/in the field may occur. Travel to projects may be required when they are in the production phase. Work in the evenings, nights, and weekends may be required as needed.
The consultant must have access to a personal car – we provide mileage compensation. Computer and workspace are provided on-site.
Your Main Responsibilities
You will, among other things, work with:
- leading and coordinating scheduling work,
- managing and monitoring activities related to scheduling in different project phases,
- developing procedures and templates for scheduling,
- participating in project schedule development,
- training in scheduling, procedures, and tools,
- developing requirements for planning in documentation and project control,
- reviewing and checking consultants' and contractors' documentation regarding planning and scheduling,
- monitoring and providing feedback on contractors' and consultants' schedules,
- checking schedules and other documents and comparing them with actual progress on-site,
- participating in construction meetings, financial meetings, and other project meetings,
- acting as the counterpart to consultants' and contractors' schedulers,
- handling deviations,
- monitoring time, cost, quality, environment, working environment, and safety,
- providing forecasts for the final costs of projects and contracts,
- reporting progress and status monthly,
- coordinating with technical branches, adjacent contracts, and external parties,
- contributing to knowledge transfer and development of working methods within the organization.
Requirements
To be considered for the role, you must meet all the following requirements:
- You have a university or college degree of at least 180 ECTS in civil engineering, technology, or another relevant area, or other education combined with experience assessed as equivalent.
- You have at least 8 years of experience in scheduling or production planning within infrastructure, industry, or energy.
- Of these 8 years, you have at least 4 years of experience from complex projects where scheduling has been your main area of responsibility.
- You have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
- You can work on-site in Gothenburg five days a week.
- You have access to a personal car for travel within the assignment.
- You can travel to projects and work in the field as needed.
- You accept that evening, night, and weekend work may occur.
Preferred Qualifications and Highly Meritorious Experience
It is highly meritorious if you have documented good experience with:
- scheduling methodology in complex projects,
- scheduling tools,
- developing training materials,
- training others in scheduling, procedures, working methods, or planning tools,
- railway projects, track projects, overhead lines, switch changes, passing loops, or similar infrastructure projects,
- working closely with project management, contractors, and consultants,
- monitoring contracts in both design and production phases,
- reviewing and quality-assuring schedules from external parties,
- working with forecasts, deviation management, and monthly reporting,
- developing procedures, templates, and working methods for planning.
Personal Attributes
We are looking for someone who is clear, goal-oriented, engaging, driven, and self-starting. You need to be able to create structure in complex environments, build trust and good relationships with both internal and external parties, and be confident in representing the project in matters concerning scheduling.
You are analytical, meticulous, and communicative, but also practically oriented and accustomed to translating planning into actual progress. The role requires high integrity, responsibility, and the ability to handle many stakeholders simultaneously.
