School Caretaker for Bondsjöhöjdens School & Murbergsskolan

Responsibilities

This is a role for you who likes to deliver noticeable service. As a school caretaker at Bondsjöhöjdens School/Murbergsskolan, you are the hub of the daily flow and ensure that premises, outdoor areas, and logistics run smoothly without interruption.

You stay ahead, solve problems quickly, and create structure in a daily life where much happens simultaneously.

You work daily with classic caretaker tasks such as supervision, maintenance, and repairs, while also providing good service both internally and externally based on arising situations.

The duties as a school caretaker include:

• Responsibility for ongoing maintenance and simpler repairs, e.g., carpentry and painting of school premises and furnishings
• Rectify faults and deficiencies and handle fault reports
• Be the contact person for the property owner, alarm companies, and other external partners
• Work with systematic work environment work (SAM) and fire protection work (SBA), including risk assessments, controls, and safety rounds
• Responsibility for rearrangements, moves, and preparing premises
• Manage waste handling and recycling
• Responsibility for goods receipt and mail handling
• Handle locks, keys, and alarms, as well as opening and closing the school premises
• Perform snow clearing and sanding, and contribute to the maintenance of outdoor areas and the schoolyard. Lifting of heavy objects may occur.
• Responsibility for furniture, interior design, and purchasing of consumables
• Work with deep cleaning of premises
• Ensure functioning learning environments both indoors and outdoors
• In case of substitute staff shortage, substitute positions at the after-school center or in connection with class activities outside the school area, e.g., theater visits or swimming lessons, may become relevant.

You have many contact areas in your work – with students, staff, school management, craftsmen, and visitors – and contribute to creating structure in a daily life where much happens simultaneously.

Your Competence and Experience

We are looking for you who have knowledge and experience of caretaker tasks, property maintenance, or similar work.

Qualifications:

• Vocational upper secondary education or equivalent experience
• Good practical skills in maintenance, repair, assembly, and service
• Digital skills and good IT proficiency
• Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
• Category B driver's license

Merits:

• Experience working with systematic work environment and fire protection
• Experience working with children in some activity, e.g., as a teacher or coach

The work can sometimes be physically demanding and also involves working alone, which requires good physical fitness and independence.
