Do you want to use your legal expertise to make a real difference for people with intellectual disabilities?

The National Association for People with Intellectual Disabilities (FUB) is strengthening its legal support for members and is now looking for an LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) lawyer for a new role where legal advice is combined with the development of working methods and structures in the field. You will become part of our interest policy group, but will also collaborate with other colleagues and voluntary legal advisors. The position is a fixed-term appointment of three years, with good prospects for extension, as the hope is that this will become a permanent part of the operations.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide support and legal advice to members in individual cases within the LSS and related legislation
• Coordinate and support the organization's voluntary legal advisors
• Develop structures and working methods for legal advice
• Gather insights from cases and contribute to interest policy work
• Monitor and analyze developments in the field

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a law degree and experience working as a lawyer, including within the LSS. You have excellent ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and share FUB's values. Knowledge of human rights, the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the European Convention on Human Rights is an advantage. Knowledge of intellectual disabilities is also a plus.

We are looking for someone who is collaborative and flexible, with an attentive and adaptable approach when meeting others, and who is accustomed to meeting people in vulnerable situations. You are self-motivated and take initiative, structure your work, and drive the work forward. Furthermore, you are judicious and decisive, with the ability to make well-founded assessments even in complex situations.
