About the Role: Ski Gymnasium in Gällivare

The Ski Gymnasium has a long tradition in Gällivare. Since 1980, we have been graduating students from our school, and we are very proud of our operations! We have RIG (Special Sports) students in both alpine and cross-country skiing, as well as NIU (National Sports Schools) students in cross-country skiing. Our ski facility is a 5-minute drive from the school and central town, and as the northernmost ski gymnasium in Sweden, we have a long season with optimal conditions.

For the 2026/2027 ski season, we are looking for reinforcements for the coaching team on the alpine side. We work in a tight-knit team where every coach's competence is utilized. You will be met with warmth, competence, humor, and a strong focus on students, with the goal of creating a developmental environment for our elite-focused youth.

Responsibilities

As a special physical education teacher/ski coach with us, you have a broad role that places high demands on collaboration and flexibility. The work involves planning and leading ski training sessions and other training for students, together with the other coaches. You will also plan and conduct camp activities and handle the practicalities of competition trips during the season.

The coaching team actively works to create a safe training and competition group where skiers support and spur each other on in a positive way. This may include individual coaching conversations with skiers as well as contact with guardians.

Qualifications

Being a special physical education teacher or having completed the Swedish Ski Association's junior and senior coaching education (or equivalent) is meritorious, as is a personal career as an active competitive alpine skier. Experience working with youth is also desirable. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. A Category B driver's license is required.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
