We are looking for a Preschool Teacher at Sameskolstyrelsen in Jåhkåmåhkke

Sameskolstyrelsen is a government agency with its administrative office in Jåhkåmåhkke. We offer a unique work environment where Sami culture and language are at the center. The Sami school is a form of education equivalent to the comprehensive school, with teaching from preschool class to year 6, based on the Sami curriculum. We also operate preschool activities in cooperation with the respective municipalities and have operations in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna. Additionally, we offer distance education in Sami languages and support the development of teaching materials.

We are currently seeking an engaged preschool teacher for one of our preschools.

Job Description

Your main tasks will include planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching in accordance with the preschool's governing documents, with a clear Sami perspective. You will work both individually and in teams to develop successful learning environments together with the rest of the staff.

As a preschool teacher, you hold pedagogical responsibility. We are looking for someone who is cooperative, responsible, and positive, always prioritizing the best interests of the children. We value curiosity, sensitivity, flexibility, and a respectful approach towards children, parents, and colleagues. Since we are a small preschool, personal suitability and the ability to collaborate effectively are of great importance.

We spend a lot of time outdoors in forests and fields, utilizing the outdoor environments in our immediate area. Therefore, it is important that you can work independently and navigate safely in various terrains. The children we work with are between 1 and 5 years old and are very active, which requires you to be able to manage the group independently.

Qualifications

• Degree as a preschool teacher with a valid teaching license, or other education deemed suitable by the employer.
• Oral and written proficiency in Sami.
• Positive outlook on life and ability to build good relationships.
• Ability to prevent and resolve conflicts.
• Meticulous, flexible, and sensitive to the needs of the children.
• Enjoyment in working with children and young people.

Salary: Monthly salary (individual salary setting applies).
