About the Role

As a Contracting Engineer at Vattenfall Services, you will work on large-scale projects within regional and national grid construction. You will step into a role where you collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, technical resources, procurement, and clients. Your mission is to contribute to structure, quality, and progress throughout the entire project lifecycle, from early stages to on-site implementation.

The role is varied, combining office-based project work with presence in the field. You will act as technical support during implementation and serve as a crucial link between planning and practical execution.

Currently, we are part of a comprehensive and long-term initiative to expand the transmission grid in Västra Götaland. The projects are carried out in close cooperation between several stakeholders and include several major cable projects in the area around Gothenburg, extending further south and north in the region.

Your Responsibilities

In the role of Contracting Engineer, you work closely with the projects throughout the implementation phase. A significant part of the role involves working with construction documents and tender specifications, where you review, quality-assure, and ensure that the correct documentation is in place for efficient and safe construction.

You monitor quantities and completed work to create accurate and transparent reporting for the client. You actively participate in technical, construction, and budget meetings together with both the client and internal functions. You are also involved in the procurement of materials, equipment, and services in close dialogue with the procurement department, focusing on the project's needs and feasibility.

Requirements

You may have built your competence through various paths, for example as a technician in power line or electrical installation work, or through work with design, site supervision, procurement, or project management.

To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

• The ability to read and understand tender and contract documents, as well as identify risks and opportunities in different stages of the project.
• Experience in producing technical documentation, such as material lists and technical specifications.
• Professional knowledge within ESA (Electrical Safety Association).
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• A valid B-driver's license, as travel is required for the position.

Merits:

• Experience in power line construction and project/site management.
• Documented BAS U education (Construction Safety).
• Knowledge of contract law, such as AB04 and ABT06.

As a person, you are cooperative and thrive in a role where work is done in close dialogue with other project members. In collaborative projects, where transparency and joint progress are crucial, you contribute to creating understanding and functional solutions even when different perspectives meet. You are structured and have the ability to plan and coordinate your work. Through a methodical approach, you ensure that documentation and decisions are clear and consistent throughout the project, from planning to execution. You can prioritize correctly and take responsibility in critical phases without compromising on quality or safety.

Additional Information

Location: Gothenburg, Trollhättan, Kungsbacka, Hallsberg, Motala, Varberg, or Halmstad.

Travel occurs regularly in the position. Overnight stays may occur during certain periods, but the role does not require being away from home for entire work weeks.
