Do you want a challenging and rewarding job in a home-like environment? We are now looking for a Support Pedagogue for a full-time position at Vassmolösa Children and Youth Residence.
About the role
As a Support Pedagogue, you work together with your colleagues in the direct work with the residents. In addition, you will drive and apply Nytida's framework for pedagogy and contribute to the design of personalized pedagogy for the residents. This is to support the residents in utilizing their cognitive and social abilities, strengthen their self-esteem, and enable a health-promoting life by acting as a role model and motivating healthy living.
Together with other employees, you work with the goal of making the day meaningful and content-rich, performing care-oriented work, ensuring pleasant premises, and participating in activities with the residents. You will also supervise and support employees in social documentation and implementation plans, mentor new hires, and collaborate with the operations manager in development projects. You report to the operations manager. Becoming a manager can also be a future career opportunity for you.
Working hours are scheduled during the day, evening, weekends, and overnight on-call duty.
About the unit
Vassmolösa is an LSS residence (Services and Support for People with Disabilities Act) aimed at young people between the ages of 13–18 (or as long as the young person is in school) who have a diagnosis within the autism spectrum and/or an intellectual disability.
We work individually based on Nytida's framework for pedagogy (read more here), which is built on low-affective interaction, clarifying pedagogy, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). The approach is individualized so that each young person has the best conditions for quality of life, participation, self-determination, and meaning. With calm, security, and structure, we support the young person in using their strengths and embracing their interests.
We are a small staff group that works closely together, where collaboration between colleagues is the starting point.
The residence is located 23 kilometers south of Kalmar in a village called Kvarnlyckan. Here, it is close to beautiful nature, walking trails, the sea, and beaches. The nearest bus stop is 2.3 kilometers from the residence, and from there it takes 30 minutes to reach Kalmar by public transport. With a short drive, you can reach various leisure activities in the surrounding area, such as bowling, swimming hall, cinema, skate park, playgrounds, ice rink, library, and more.
