We are now looking for a residential support worker for our team at Vassmolösa Children and Youth Residence. We offer training and a developing job where you make a difference! The position is a permanent employment at 90%.
About Vassmolösa Children and Youth Residence Vassmolösa BoU is an LSS residence aimed at young people between the ages of 13-18 (or as long as the young person is in school) who have a diagnosis within the autism spectrum and/or an intellectual disability. The residence is located 23 kilometers south of Kalmar in a village called Kvarnlyckan. Here it is close to beautiful nature. We work based on Nytida's framework for pedagogy (read more here) which is built on low-affective handling, clarifying pedagogy, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). The working method is individualized so that each young person has the best conditions for quality of life, participation, self-determination, and meaningfulness. With calm, security, and structure, we support the young person to use their strengths and to embrace the young person's interests. We are small staff groups who work closely together, where collaboration between colleagues is the starting point.
About the role In the role of residential support worker, you start from the residents' individual needs and wishes and provide support in daily life from a pedagogical approach. Together with other employees, you work with the goal of making the day meaningful and content-rich. You support and guide with, among other things, personal care, meals, medication management, cleaning, community contacts, and communication. An important part of the work is to stimulate and motivate the resident to develop their skills and to create opportunities for an active and meaningful leisure time. Your duties also include documenting and planning based on implementation plans. Working hours are scheduled during daytime, evening time, weekends, and sleeping on-call.
Your experience and knowledge You who apply have at least a high school education in care and nursing, social work, pedagogy, or other equivalent education. You can, for example, be educated as a nurse assistant, social worker, or pedagogue. You have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing, good computer skills, experience of documentation, and hold a B driver's license. It is an advantage if you have experience of working with the target group.
You have a positive outlook, a strong commitment to people, and are responsible. You enjoy working in a team and supporting your colleagues and always have our users' best interests as a starting point in everything you do.
