Do you want to grow as a software developer, whether senior or junior? Do you also want to work with software that simplifies everyday life for one of society's most important sectors? Take the chance to become a key part of the growing company Sematic AB, which develops web-based solutions for healthcare.

The Company

Sematic was founded in 2013 and is based in Linköping. The company develops advanced software focused on facilitating staff scheduling in large hospitals. This includes user-friendly interfaces and a high degree of automation through advanced algorithms featuring automated optimization functions and self-learning methods.

The idea was born and developed in direct collaboration with end-users, leading to solutions that address the core of healthcare scheduling challenges. Both the significant mathematical complexity and the requirements for high usability have been met. Today, the tool is market-leading, competing against and displacing solutions from established software giants. Many regions and hospitals are now customers, having signed long-term contracts.

Sematic has grown steadily to meet customer demand. Last year, the workplace expanded with a move to new office premises in Linköping, and now it is time for more talent to join the competent and driven team.

Responsibilities

As a Full Stack Developer at Sematic, you have a broad and varied role where you develop software with solutions that cover the entire spectrum. As a new employee, you will participate in the work by collaborating with other team members to achieve the best solutions and develop within the company. The work is based on freedom with responsibility, where you also have the opportunity to grow through extensive feedback and new challenges.

Some of Sematic's tech stack: JavaScript, Node.js, MongoDB, C++, and more.

Your colleagues at Sematic have close contact with end-users, meaning the results of your work are directly noticed and fed back. Additionally, you and other employees provide technical support to end-users.

Education, Experience, and Personal Qualities

  • You have a university degree in engineering (Y, D, or IT equivalent).
  • You solve problems better than most.
  • You know the differences between data structures: arrays and hashmaps.
  • You understand algorithms and iterative/recursive behaviors.
  • You can distinguish between garbage collection and manual memory management.

Preferred: Experience with JavaScript, Node.js, MongoDB, or SQL, as well as server and client management.

To thrive here, we believe you have a strong technical interest and the drive to create solutions that are actually used.
