About Us

The psychiatric emergency clinic is part of the psychiatric clinic at Mälarsjukhuset and collaborates with the clinic's inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, as well as other external authorities. At the psychiatric emergency clinic, licensed nurses, mental health care assistants, and medical secretaries work. The team has broad and long professional experience.

Your Responsibilities

• Telephone advice, which includes counseling, acute psychiatric assessments, evaluating psychiatric conditions, and referring individuals to the appropriate care facility and level of care. Caring and supportive conversations.
• You will collaborate with our back- and primary on-call doctors and be present during doctor visits at the clinic.
• General tasks at an emergency clinic are also included, such as sample collection. Receiving patients seeking acute care at the clinic, etc.
• You will also be part of our mobile team, which provides support to psychiatric patients and their relatives at home, follows up on previous treatment contacts, provides relief during temporary crises related to mental illness, etc.
• The mobile team assesses conditions during home visits in cases that are difficult to evaluate via telephone or are considered to be of an acutely serious psychiatric nature.
• The on-call duties also include child and adolescent psychiatric cases for young people with more severe mental health problems during on-call hours.
• The work requires good organizational skills and the ability to meet people in vulnerable situations.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with further education in psychiatry or with experience in psychiatry. Great importance is attached to personal qualities such as the ability to take initiative, work independently, and have good teamwork skills.

Employment Type

Permanent position with start date as agreed. Working hours are scheduled for day and evening shifts.
