Within the Department of Education and Labour Market, we have preschools, primary schools, special needs primary schools, upper secondary schools, special needs upper secondary schools, reception units for newly arrived students, municipal activity responsibility, adult education, cultural schools, technical schools, central child and student health services, labour market units, and a campus for higher studies.

Professions included in the central child and student health services include counselors, logopedists (speech and language therapists), psychologists, special education teachers, school nurses, and school doctors. The unit is responsible for child and student health teams for preschools, primary schools, special needs primary schools, upper secondary schools, and special needs upper secondary schools. For primary and special needs primary schools, since the start of the school year in August 2025, there is an organization with five overarching student health teams aimed at creating good prerequisites for principals to lead and develop their student health work. "Student Health in Focus" is, since the start of the school year in August 2025, a new forum for principals and all professions in the student health team, with the aim of developing preventive and health-promoting student health work through dialogue and creating equity in student health work. Collaboration with all professions and units within the Department of Education and Labour Market and other municipal departments is important for the central Child and Student Health services. Active work is underway to build bridges between the department's various operations and the municipality's other departments. Since September 2024, the psychosocial part of the Youth Clinic's operations has also been included under the umbrella of the central Child and Student Health services.

Job Description

The central child and student health services are now looking for a qualified logopedist (speech and language therapist) for a temporary position with tasks within the preschool sector. Together with the head of the child and student health unit, the deputy school principal, principals, and special education teachers for preschools, you will have the opportunity to help shape the role so that it best matches our existing competencies and meets the needs of the preschools. The child health team, focusing on preschools, is now being expanded with both a logopedist and an additional special education teacher, which provides good opportunities to create a child health team that contributes to operational development in all preschools. Our development work is practice-oriented and based on scientific foundations and proven experience. Language development is an active ongoing process; all preschools in Katrineholm Municipality have participated in IFoU's program "Language-Developing Preschool" for three years. The preschools also show an increased awareness of the importance of the learning environment, a work that can be further developed. As a logopedist, together with the child health team's special education teachers and logopedists, you are a key person in the organization's development work. Your approach is practice-oriented and characterized by collaboration, responsiveness, and engagement.

Child and Student Health serves as an important link between the municipality's various departments, all municipalities in the region, and Region Sörmland. Katrineholm Municipality conducts active health-promoting work with Pep Municipality within the framework of Generation Pep, which has been recognized nationally. "Together for the Children's Best in Sörmland" is a collaboration model for early interventions for children and young people aged 0-18, covering Region Sörmland's healthcare, the municipalities' social services, and preschools/schools.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in logopedics (speech and language therapy). You have good knowledge of the preventive and health-promoting mission of child and student health, as well as documented experience in driving systematic change and development work. It is meritorious if you have previous experience of successfully leading and coordinating different professions within preschools. Since the work involves communication and documentation, you must be able to handle the Swedish language well in both speech and writing. A B-driver's license for manual transmission is required as a car is used in the position.

You motivate, lead, and create prerequisites for others to develop their work and achieve common goals. With a realistic perspective, you contribute to clarifying tasks and goals for the group. You work solution-focused, build and maintain good relationships, and have the ability to create engagement in various contexts. The assignment involves collaboration in various forms, which means you have the ability to be both independent and have good collaboration skills.
