About Us

The Occupational Therapy Clinic at Mälarsjukhuset provides rehabilitation in both outpatient and inpatient care. The work within inpatient care is rewarding but at times demanding, as we play a crucial role in the discharge process. The occupational therapy team shares premises with physiotherapists and rehabilitation nursing assistants. This ensures that colleagues are always nearby to ask questions, reflect with, receive help from, or provide help in daily work.

We are now looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist and have a special interest in long-term rehabilitation on an inpatient ward.

Your Responsibilities

As an occupational therapist linked to the rehabilitation units, you will meet patients with, among other things, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and neurological diseases. You will perform structured assessments of both personal and instrumental activities of daily living (p-ADL/i-ADL), cognitive abilities, as well as hand and arm function. Based on your assessment, you will draw conclusions regarding the rehabilitation the patient needs.

In addition to occupational therapists, the team includes physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistants, speech therapists, doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, and neuropsychologists.

Patients on the ward require longer-term inpatient rehabilitation before discharge. Collaboration with outpatient care is a key part of the patient's discharge process, as is cooperation with the municipality. Assessment, prescription, and fitting of assistive devices are also common tasks. Home visits may occur as part of the rehabilitation.

We support each other across ward boundaries, which means you will have the opportunity to gain insight into and experience working on other wards. Weekend shifts may occur.

Your Qualifications

You are a licensed occupational therapist. You have good collaboration skills, as you will work in a team with physiotherapists, speech therapists, dietitians, social workers, nursing assistants, nurses, and doctors. Collaboration also takes place externally, for example with occupational therapists or assistance coordinators within municipal services. You are flexible and adaptable to situational demands. You are structured and responsible for your tasks. We appreciate that you are secure in your role and have good self-awareness. Since home visits may occur, a valid driver's license (Category B) is desirable.
