Previous experience is desired
Make a difference. Every day.
Together, we can do something for every patient that creates security amidst hardship.
Is an empathetic approach and a focus on the patient second nature to you? Are you looking for a workplace where you can develop both professionally and personally? Then do not hesitate to apply to Advanced Home Care (ASIH) in Lund.
Our Mission
The primary goal of palliative care is to alleviate and support when a cure for the illness is no longer possible. The task of palliative care is to relieve physical pain and offer psychological, social, and existential support to the patient and their relatives. The purpose of the care is to help the patient achieve the best possible quality of life at the end of life, while neither hastening nor postponing death.
Palliative Care and ASIH in Lund is an operation with the mission to provide palliative specialist care and consists of two workplaces working in close cooperation. We have approximately 60 home care beds (ASIH) in eight municipalities in central Scania and 1,416 beds on the Palliative Care Ward in Lund.
At ASIH, there are doctors, nurses, counselors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nursing assistants, dietitians, and medical secretaries. Our operations are characterized by continuous care development and education where everyone is involved and responsible for the operation's goals, development, and results. The team has a large group of nurses (35 positions) where half of the nurses are specialists in various fields.
The majority of our patients are cared for at home, via ASIH Lund which performs specialist care interventions via home visits around the clock. Patients come to the palliative care ward for optimization of symptom relief or for care in the final stages of life. We also have a palliative consultation team that visits referred patients in hospitals and home environments and provides support to other healthcare providers. We often collaborate with municipal care and social services to offer holistic care together.
Job Profile: Nurse for ASIH Lund
1 position(s).
Responsibilities
We now have the opportunity to welcome a nurse to ASIH in Lund!
Working at ASIH in Lund means working in a person-centered manner, providing symptom-relieving treatment, and contributing to creating security in difficult life situations for all our registered patients. We care for patients of all ages who are in the final stages of life, where various types of diagnoses may occur. You meet the patient in their home environment and work based on the conditions it provides, with the patient's goal image as the focus. As an employee, you will work in a creative organization together with competent colleagues, where you are an important part of the team. Short decision-making paths give you great opportunities to influence your work.
In addition to specialized palliative care, ASIH has the task of performing point interventions at home for other medically responsible doctors in hospitals or primary care. These patients are not registered with ASIH and may have varying diagnoses and ages. Without these home interventions, the planned treatment would have required hospitalization; it is the nature of the task itself that makes it advanced home care. Common point interventions include nurses administering blood transfusions and intravenous antibiotics.
Requirements and Qualifications
We are looking for a licensed nurse with the right to practice in Swedish healthcare and with a valid B-driver's license. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. Experience working with severely ill patients is meritorious. Since both the medical record system and planning tools are digital, it is important to be comfortable using a computer.
A genuine interest in people and a clear patient focus are self-evident in the role. The work requires the ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with other professional groups, as well as having a good ability to prioritize tasks. You are happy to share your knowledge and find it stimulating to work to optimize the patient's and their relatives' quality of life.
Since part of the work involves support and conversation, there are requirements for sensitivity and the ability to build good care relationships. You are confident in your professional role, engaged, and contribute to a good working climate. The workplace is large with many colleagues, which means teamwork but also a responsibility to be able to work independently.
Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
