Boqueria Göteborg is now looking for an engaged and experienced sous chef to join our team. We are a warm and welcoming restaurant where high quality, good collaboration, and genuine guest service are at the center. This role is perfect for you if you are passionate about cooking, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to lead and inspire the kitchen team to create memorable dining experiences.
The Role
As the Sous Chef at Boqueria Göteborg, you are the right hand of the kitchen and participate in both operational management and development. You lead and coach chefs and kitchen staff, ensure that procedures are followed, and maintain high quality in every step. Your main responsibilities include planning and executing mise en place, production during lunch and dinner shifts, managing timing and delivery, menu development in collaboration with the Head Chef, and maintaining order, cleanliness, and food safety. You make decisions as needed, handle orders and ingredient flow, and ensure effective communication between the kitchen and the service team.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a person with documented experience from a restaurant kitchen, preferably with previous experience as a sous chef or in a leading chef role. You have strong technical skills, a creative sense for flavors and presentation, and the ability to work structured under high pressure. Experience with à la carte and tapas production, seasonal cooking, and sustainability aspects in the kitchen is a plus. You are accustomed to working with cost control, portion calculation, and order management.
About You
You are confident in your leadership, pedagogical, and good at giving clear instructions and feedback. You work solution-oriented, have high stress tolerance, and prioritize quality and guest experience in all tasks. You thrive in a team, communicate clearly, and create a positive and professional work environment. Flexibility regarding working hours, including evenings and weekends, is required. Good knowledge of Swedish and English is desirable.
Requirements
- Documented experience from a restaurant kitchen, preferably in a leading role or as a sous chef
- Good technical skills and a sense for flavor, timing, and presentation
- Experience in leading and coaching kitchen staff
- Knowledge of routines for food hygiene and HACCP
- Ability to work structured and meticulously under pressure
- Experience with orders, cost control, and ingredient management
- Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English
