What does the job as a nurse assistant at Norlandia Elderly Care involve?

As a nurse assistant, you are a valuable key player who contributes to ensuring our residents have a secure and meaningful life in their golden years. We always start from the resident's wishes and own abilities, focusing on their health. As a nurse assistant, you are responsible for providing dignified and good care and nursing based on the elderly person's individual needs. Common tasks include: helping with daily care, medication administration, documentation, support during activities, preparing and serving meals, as well as cleaning and laundry. You will be involved in everything from educational care moments to pleasant activities with the residents. Simply a very exciting job!

About Fatburen and Ängsklockan Elderly Care Homes

Fatburen Elderly Care Home is a residence with 48 apartments distributed over three floors and six units. Fatburen Elderly Care Home is aimed at people with high care needs, 8 places, and people with cognitive impairment, 40 places.

Fatburen Elderly Care Home is located in the Vallby area in the western parts of Västerås. There is a nice garden adjacent to the residence and plenty of walking paths in the area. It is easy to get to the residence by local transport.

Ängsklockan Elderly Care Home is a residence for people with high care needs. The residence offers 47 apartments distributed over 3 floors. Each floor is a unit, which means that with us, 15-16 residents live together on the same unit with a shared kitchen and common room.

The residence is located on Gideonsberg, close to both the duck pond and green areas. Grocery stores and restaurants are within walking distance. It is easy to get to the residence by local transport.

As a summer substitute with us, you get access to Cappy – a smart app that gives you an overview of your working hours and salary. In the app, you can for example see worked time, earned salary, preliminary salary payment, information about available shifts and how much you can earn on an extra shift. With Cappy, there is also the possibility to withdraw part of the earned salary for extra shifts/hourly shifts directly after the shift is completed.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you with a big heart and a desire to make a difference. We would like you to enjoy working with people and have a strong sense of service. Also, that you find it easy to collaborate with others and have the ability to be flexible and responsive when needed.

• It is meritorious if you have a nurse assistant education (or equivalent education) of at least 1350 credits.

• It is highly meritorious if you have previous experience within elderly care.

• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is required.

• We would like you to have good computer skills/computer experience and experience with documentation.

• We would like you to have experience working with people with cognitive difficulties/dementia.

Other information

Employment type: Summer substitute, temporary employment

Scope: Full-time, part-time or hourly employment

Start date: June, July and August 2026.

If you have the possibility to start working earlier, the possibilities for hourly employment before the summer holidays may become relevant.

We apply individual salary setting and have collective agreements. Interviews are conducted continuously and the position may be filled before the last application date. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

In the event of employment, you must be able to produce an extract from the criminal record register. You also need to be able to prove that you have the right to work in Sweden, by showing that you have citizenship within the EU/EEA or alternatively a valid work permit.
