Network Architect for Åre Municipality

Åre Municipality's IT department is now looking for a Network Architect who wants to take overall responsibility for the municipality's communication networks and help develop a robust, secure, and scalable IT infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities

As a Network Architect with us, you are the technical spearhead within networking. You own the end-to-end architecture and have a decisive influence on how our networks are designed, developed, and secured both today and tomorrow. You work in a complex environment with many operations, sites, and users, where availability, security, and scalability are business-critical. The role is both strategic and operational, with great trust and mandate.

You are responsible for the design, management, and further development of all of Åre Municipality's communication networks, including:

• Architecture, design, and management of virtual and physical firewalls
• Architecture, design, and management of virtual and physical switches
• Design new and further develop existing networks as the operations change
• Act as a senior advisor and expert support during disruptions, changes, and technical decisions
• Actively contribute to development and change projects, from idea to implementation

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are an experienced Network Architect with deep technical competence and a strong security focus. You are accustomed to working structured, long-term, and with architecture as the foundation.

• At least 7 years of experience in qualified network work in larger and complex IT environments
• Deep experience with LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, APN, DNS, and DNSSEC
• A clear segmentation and security mindset (zero trust perspective is meritorious)
• Experience with environments with many sites and users
• Documented familiarity with market-leading products such as but not limited to Cisco, HPE Aruba, Fortinet, and NetGate
• Very good knowledge of Windows and Linux
• Excellent ability to communicate technical solutions in both Swedish and English
• Documented competence level equivalent to CCNP (or equivalent certification from another vendor)

• Employment type: Permanent
• Place of work: Jämtland (Remote work is allowed when duties permit)
• Requirements: Swedish citizenship. The position is classified in a security class, and a security investigation with register control will be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
