Who are we?

The mission of the Care and Social Services Department is to ensure that elderly people receive care, support, and assistance. We work with a person-centered approach where our work is guided by and originates from the user's needs. The Social Services Office aims to create security and good social service for those we serve in Norrköping. We work with support and help for people who are particularly vulnerable or have various difficulties. Our focus is always on meeting the individual's needs, especially when it comes to the best interests of children.

Our operations vary depending on the needs of those who require our help. Within home care services, we help people manage their daily lives in their own homes. For elderly people who need more extensive support and care, we offer residential care homes.

For people with physical or mental disabilities, there are various types of help and support available. We have group homes and service apartments, personal assistance, and supported living. The target group also varies in age, as we work with both adults and children and young people with disabilities. Your responsibilities

As an employee here, you play a significant role in how other people experience their daily lives. You are there to provide support and care, create security, and contribute to meaningful days. What a working day looks like varies between our different operations. In the majority of our operations, a large part of the tasks involves nursing care. This could involve helping someone with personal hygiene or taking their medication.

We also have operations where nursing care is not involved, but where the tasks focus on supporting and motivating people with mental or intellectual disabilities in their daily lives. As an employee in such an operation, you support people in managing their housing, cooking, laundry, and similar tasks. Other common tasks include planning, conducting, or supporting various social activities. Documentation is also part of the job.

Who are you?

Previous experience from work within healthcare and social care or other professions where you have had contact with people is meritorious. It is also meritorious if you are studying or have completed your studies with a focus on healthcare and social care, child and youth activities, behavioral science, social or pedagogical work.

To work in our operations, you need to have a customer focus where you are accommodating in your interactions and can understand and meet the user's needs and wishes. You have good teamwork skills and contribute to a well-functioning team. Our operations are dynamic, and things do not always go as planned, so you need to be flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances. You also show good judgment by being able to make rational decisions based on what the situation requires.

You have good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. To work in our operations, you must be at least 18 years old (AFS 2012:3).

We consider it meritorious if you have a B-class driver's license.
