Gasum is a leading Nordic biogas producer offering both production and availability of biogas on an industrial scale. We have biogas plants in Finland, Sweden, and Denmark. Biogas is a renewable fuel consisting entirely of bio-waste. This enables our partners to significantly reduce their CO2 emissions and transition from a linear to a circular economy. In addition to biogas, our plants produce recycled nutrients useful for agriculture and other operations. We continuously develop our production by setting new standards and investing in new biogas plants. Our purpose is cleaner energy, which we achieve together with our European partners through biogas production. We aim to make 7 TWh of biogas available by 2027.

We are now looking for a Plant Operator based at our facility in Örebro

The biogas is produced from by-products from the food industry and agricultural raw materials, upgraded in a water scrubber to vehicle gas, and transported via the gas grid in Örebro to a compressor station for tube trailer filling. The gas grid also supplies two biogas stations in the city.

Your main areas of responsibility will be:

The main task as a Plant Operator is to operate the plant safely, environmentally, and economically with a steady and high production. In this role, you will work both independently and together with your colleagues to ensure daily operations run smoothly. We are looking for someone who is self-reliant and solution-oriented, who likes to take their own initiatives and finds it easy to collaborate.

Your daily routine will consist of varied tasks:

  • Participate in and develop daily work with production, supervision, and maintenance together with colleagues and the site manager
  • Perform operational and process monitoring
  • Plan, execute, and document corrective/preventive and emergency maintenance
  • Analyze and resolve operational issues and work with preventive maintenance
  • Work with mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of process equipment
  • Perform sampling and analysis
  • Conduct risk analyses, improve, and apply systematic safety work
  • Report and take action in case of disturbances or risks to personnel or the facility
  • When needed (occasionally), travel to Gasum's other biogas plants to support work there
  • Participate in on-call duty (one hour response time)

What we expect from you:

We are looking for someone who is self-reliant and solution-oriented, who likes to take their own initiatives and finds it easy to collaborate. You understand the importance of safety in daily work, have a positive attitude, and the ability to remain calm in unexpected situations. We believe that through good communication, you naturally maintain good relationships with both colleagues and subcontractors. Most importantly, you must have a strong interest in processes, technology, and mechanics, as you will play a key role in operations at Gasum as a Plant Operator.

Requirements:

  • Technical education or work experience deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Strong interest in technology and the environment
  • Good computer skills
  • Good language skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Class B driver's license

Merits:

  • Experience from the process industry, water/sewage (VA), or other production
  • Experience working with processes, control systems, and maintenance work
  • Experience with mechanical work
  • Experience from agriculture
  • Good familiarity with machinery

The position is a temporary assignment with a start date no earlier than June 1, 2026, and an end date of August 1, 2027.
