The Education Department is responsible for preschool, compulsory school, adapted compulsory school, upper secondary school, and adapted upper secondary school. Responsibilities also include student welfare, mother tongue instruction, school transport, and school meals. We work to create an inspiring learning environment for approximately 10,000 children and students. We have a strong vision of building knowledge and creating dreams.

The Workplace

At Söderslättsgymnasiet, we offer 10 national programs, as well as introductory programs and adapted upper secondary education. The school is located across two units, S:t Nicolai and Bastionen. Each program primarily belongs to one unit, but teaching may occur at both. We want students to develop self-awareness, self-confidence, and a willingness to seek and absorb new knowledge. In Trelleborg Municipality, we also have the opportunity to offer our highly skilled teachers various career paths, such as team leaders or lead teachers.

We are seeking a teacher for instruction in design and product development who will be part of the Technology Program.

Responsibilities

As a teacher, you work to support, motivate, and stimulate every student to meet knowledge requirements based on their individual conditions. You teach subjects such as design, product development, art and form, and you participate in planning projects where creativity, problem-solving, and innovation are central. You work in a team and in close collaboration with the principal and colleagues to develop teaching and operations based on the upper secondary school curriculum.

As a teacher in design and product development, you will become an important part of the Technology Program. The program is affiliated with Teknikcollege, where the aim is to future-proof the education to match the needs of Sweden's technology and industrial companies. The position includes a coordinating role between the school and Teknikcollege.

At Söderslättsgymnasiet, all students have access to a Full-time Mentor, which means that as a teaching teacher, you get more time for teaching, course development, and interdisciplinary work.

Qualifications

We are looking for a certified upper secondary school teacher with eligibility in areas such as design, art and form, and product development, or other education that the employer considers equivalent. The assignment requires good knowledge of the school's mission and a thorough understanding of what the upper secondary school reform Gy25 entails, as well as other governing documents.

To thrive and function in the role of an upper secondary teacher, it is of utmost importance that you are secure, stable, and have self-insight. You see the whole picture of the pedagogical mission and can work to motivate students for development both academically and personally. You have a good understanding of how students absorb knowledge and adapt teaching to the student's and group's conditions and prior knowledge. You communicate clearly, well-formulated, and engaged, both in individual conversations and in larger groups. You have the ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, and other contacts you meet in your professional role.

To succeed in the role, you need to be able to work both independently and in close collaboration with others. Furthermore, you take responsibility for your tasks and work in a structured manner by planning, organizing, and prioritizing effectively. You stay updated on current research and dare to think anew.

As a person, you are creative, development-oriented, and have good communication skills as well as the ability to see the big picture. You enjoy working in an environment that demands high levels of responsibility, flexibility, and where innovation and future focus are central.

Great importance will be placed on your personal qualities.
