Welcome to Spängerskolan, a single-track school for grades 1-9 with approximately 260 students, located in the beautiful natural surroundings of Arkelstorp.
Through successful teaching, guided by our vision "Learning for life - together it is given", we work towards student learning and good goal achievement. The work of student health services begins in the classroom. The pedagogical development group, led by the principals, leads the development work at the school. The focus is on close collaboration with the school's student health team, consisting of a special educator, special teacher, counselor, school nurse, and principals. A school doctor and school psychologist are also part of our team.
Our long-term focus is on learning environments that promote learning for the individual within the group, study strategies, collaboration with homes, approach, and good relationships.
Your role with us
As a teacher with us, you stimulate students towards learning and personal responsibility. With engagement and enthusiasm, you create a safe learning environment based on mutual respect and cooperation, through good leadership both inside and outside the classroom.
Teaching is designed based on the curriculum goals where planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation are important pillars. You have positive and high expectations of the students and adapt teaching to all students' levels, with a focus on the best interests of the student.
Through dialogue, you create good relationships characterized by mutual respect and a trusting approach. In your role, you stay up to date with events in the outside world and the daily lives of young people. Alternative learning tools and documentation are a natural part of your work. In a systematic way, you reflect on the practical work and, together with colleagues, drive development work within the work group/school. You also share responsibility for both your own and the group's planning and further development.
If you are new as a teacher, you are supported by a mentor for the best guidance in your work. If you are an unlicensed teacher, you can conduct teaching but not be responsible for it. Responsibility for grading lies with a licensed teacher.
Who are we looking for?
Primarily, we are looking for you with a teaching license with eligibility to teach grades 1-9 in music and another subject in primary school. Secondly, we are looking for you who have subject knowledge at the university level in the above-mentioned subject. It is an advantage if you have pedagogical education at the university level. We want you to have experience of working as a teacher in primary school or have experience of teaching or working with children and young people aged 7-16.
You have the ability to adapt teaching based on each student's prerequisites, and your lessons are characterized by clear expectations, a calm working atmosphere, and a desire to learn. We would like you to have the ability to teach children in need of special support. The ability to support students in handling conflicts that arise is also an advantage. You have engagement, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in the school world and how it is affected by the outside world.
A success factor is that you can create trusting relationships both inside and outside the school. Furthermore, you are a secure pedagogical leader with the ability to critically analyze your own and the work group's working methods for continuous development.
Naturally, you use digital technology in teaching and as a tool for information, planning, communication, and reporting. You organize and structure the work based on specified goals.
As a person, you are communicative, attentive, well-acquainted with the professional ethical principles for teachers, and have the ability to analyze and document students' abilities and knowledge.
To enable us to consider your application, you must attach your degree certificate and teaching license. If there are no eligible licensed teachers, you as an unlicensed teacher can be employed on a temporary basis according to the Education Act. When we want to offer you the position, you must present an extract from the police criminal record register for us to be able to employ you, according to provisions in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the Education Act.
