The Education Department is responsible for, among other things, preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, upper secondary school, and adapted upper secondary school. Responsibilities also include student health services, mother tongue instruction, school transport, and school meals. The Workplace

At Söderslättsgymnasiet, we offer 10 national programs as well as introductory programs and adapted upper secondary education. The school is located across two units, S:t Nicolai and Bastionen. Each program primarily belongs to one unit, but teaching may take place at both units. We want students to develop self-awareness, self-confidence, and a desire to seek and acquire new knowledge. We at Söderslättsgymnasiet are seeking a teacher for instruction in natural science. In the position of upper secondary teacher in natural science, you will be part of the natural science program and work closely with other natural scientists.

Responsibilities

As a teacher, you work to support, motivate, and stimulate every student to meet knowledge requirements based on their individual conditions. You teach on both academic and vocational programs, creating instruction that sparks curiosity, trains scientific thinking, and gives students the tools to understand the world through scientific perspectives. You are part of a teaching team where you jointly plan, follow up, and develop teaching based on the upper secondary school curriculum and the shared responsibility mission. Together with colleagues and the principal, you work to create structure, security, and increased opportunities for high goal achievement for all students. We operate on the principle that all students are everyone's responsibility.

At Söderslättsgymnasiet, all students have access to a Full-time Mentor, which means that as a teaching teacher, you get more time for teaching, course development, and interdisciplinary work.

Qualifications

We are looking for a certified upper secondary teacher with qualification in natural science. The assignment requires that you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well-versed in what the upper secondary school reform Gy25 entails, as well as other governing documents. It is an asset if you have qualifications in other natural science subjects.

To thrive and function in the role of an upper secondary teacher, it is of utmost importance that you are secure, stable, and self-reflective. You are passionate about teaching, confident in your profession, and have a genuine commitment to young people and their learning. You see the whole picture in the pedagogical mission and can work to motivate students for development both academically and personally. You have a good understanding of how students acquire knowledge and adapt teaching to the student's and group's conditions and prior knowledge. You communicate clearly, well-formulated, and engaged, both in individual conversations and in larger groups. You have the ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, and other contacts you meet in your professional role.

To succeed in the role, you need to be able to work both independently and in close collaboration with others. Furthermore, you take responsibility for your tasks and work in a structured manner by planning, organizing, and prioritizing efficiently. You stay updated on current research and dare to think anew.

As a person, you are development-oriented and have good communication skills as well as the ability to see the big picture. You enjoy working in an environment that places high demands on responsibility and flexibility.
