Welcome to the Foster Care Department at the Employment and Social Administration!
Section South 2, within the Foster Care Department, is currently seeking a Child Social Worker. Are you the one we are looking for?
Job Responsibilities
As a social worker/child social worker for children placed in foster care, you serve as the designated contact responsible for handling and following up on the child's case. You will follow up and, when necessary, investigate measures according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU). Your duties also include investigating, following up, and reviewing support according to the "Children's Needs in Focus" (BBIC) model. You are responsible for ensuring the child's rights are upheld in contact with individuals in the child's network and other authorities, with special attention to the best interests of the child. Your role as a social worker also involves collaboration with other actors and motivation work with families based on the foster care placement.
Since many children are placed in foster homes throughout Skåne, the job involves a significant amount of travel, primarily by car.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a degree in Social Work, previous experience in social work, and a genuine interest in working with the target group of children and families. We prefer candidates with previous experience in work concerning children and young people, foster care, and preferably investigation work and authority exercise according to SoL and LVU. If you also possess knowledge of or experience with BBIC, Signs of Safety, MI, or the Lifecare journal system, it will facilitate your work.
Since the job largely involves communication and collaboration, it is a requirement that you can express yourself well in the Swedish language, both orally and in writing.
A B-class driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle is a requirement.
The work as a child social worker places high demands on your ability to build good relationships with the children and families you meet. To succeed in this work, you must also collaborate well with other parties, both internally and externally, and be able to easily adapt to changing circumstances and situations. We also require that you have a good ability to structure your work and can plan, organize, and prioritize your tasks independently.
About the Workplace
The Foster Care Department is divided into two units. In total, the department consists of ten sections. The workgroups consist of child social workers and foster care social workers with access to close supervision from the section manager and the first social worker.
We offer you, as an employee, an individual introduction program within the operation, as well as continuous internal and external supervision. You will also continuously participate in other competence development, such as lectures and training. You are also offered a health and wellness allowance, flexible working hours, and the possibility of holiday exchange.
