We are currently recruiting hourly and summer temporary staff for day/evening shifts as well as awake night shifts. Both day/evening and night shifts within this recruitment involve working approximately every other weekend.

Job Responsibilities

Qvarnen is a residence for men experiencing homelessness with harmful substance use and addiction, often combined with mental health issues. At Qvarnen, men of various ages, with different drug use patterns and unique life stories, experiences, and needs reside. Our goal is to always provide tailored support so that our residents feel safe in their living environment. This places high demands on us as staff to be able to switch between different strategies and approaches, ensuring we always maintain a good and non-judgmental attitude towards all our residents.

The tasks involve supporting, motivating, and creating a safe living environment and secure relationships with the residents. An important part of the work at Qvarnen is to collaborate with other actors regarding our residents, such as the police, healthcare services, social emergency services, and other units within social services.

The work includes certain practical tasks, such as cleaning living rooms upon move-out, serving meals and coffee, and assisting residents with other practical matters like cleaning and laundry when needed. The tasks also include documentation, journaling, and the creation of implementation plans.

Qualifications

Required for these positions:

• Started or completed education as a social worker, social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue, or other relevant education deemed suitable by the employer for the assignment.
• Relevant work experience in social work where meeting people has been a key component.
• Very good Swedish, both spoken and written.

Merits:

• Ongoing or completed internship within the framework of your education
• Experience working with people living with addiction problems
• Experience working with people living with mental illness
• Experience working with low-affective approach
• Experience working with people experiencing homelessness
• Education and experience in MI (Motivational Interviewing) and/or solution-focused approach
• Experience working with documentation in similar operations
• Experience working from a harm reduction perspective
• Experience collaborating with other actors regarding our target group, such as healthcare and psychiatry, police, the Functional Support Administration, and authorities within municipal operations that decide on housing
• Class B driver's license (automatic license is sufficient)

About the Workplace

The Housing and Support Unit provides housing and housing solutions for people experiencing homelessness who need support. Within the unit's seven sections and operations, there is a common mission to offer individually adapted housing forms for people who, due to harmful use, addiction, or other life difficulties, need support in their daily living.
