About Us

The Department of Plastic Surgery provides general plastic surgery and highly specialized care, covering regional and national services with a special focus on microsurgery, breast surgery, advanced wound care, craniofacial surgery, cleft lip and palate surgery, and gender dysphoria. Today, twelve employees work at the Plastic Surgery Outpatient Clinic. A chief physician is attached to the clinic. We have close cooperation with the Administrative Unit and Operating Room 6. The clinic's opening hours are during the day, Monday to Friday.

We are currently looking for two dedicated nurses who want to be part of a department with great variety and high competence. At the clinic, we work with both adults and children for medical assessment or independent nurse-led clinics. We have an outpatient operating room where we operate daily. A photo unit with two medical photographers is also attached to the clinic. Additionally, two full-time psychologists work with us.

Responsibilities

Outpatient work including independent wound care clinics, assisting in outpatient surgeries, and supporting medical appointments. You will also man the advice telephone for patients, referrers, and primary care providers.

New employees will receive a buddy system with an experienced colleague for at least four weeks. You will never work alone with us; there is always someone to ask as we value strong collaboration among colleagues. The clinic has several areas of responsibility where we work in a team-oriented manner. We work in newly renovated premises adapted for our activities.

About You

You must be a licensed nurse, and we prefer that you have a few years of experience in surgical operations. Experience in wound care is an asset, as is experience in outpatient work. Knowledge of the systems Elvis and Melior is also desirable.

We are looking for someone interested in working independently but also capable of collaborating with various professional groups. You are flexible and able to shift work pace and focus. In your interactions with both patients and colleagues, you have an open and empathetic approach. If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Base Year, our introduction program. The Clinical Base Year is mandatory and lasts during your first year of employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulator Center. In addition, it includes service on at least two different departments to broaden your competence.

In the event of recruitment of nurses/doctors with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the current position is preceded by a process to meet the requirements for a Swedish license/specialist certificate.
