About the Department
The Follow-up Clinic for Adults after Childhood Cancer is a region-wide unit located within the Cancer Rehabilitation unit, Oncology Department at Sahlgrenska. The clinic focuses on long-term follow-up of late complications in adult patients who were treated for cancer before the age of 18. The team consists of a nurse, a physician, and a counselor who collaborate with other professions as needed. Patient visits are team-based, meaning we meet patients together as a team of nurse, physician, and counselor.
Cancer rehabilitation within the Oncology Department is a central part of patient care throughout the entire period of contact with us. Our goal is to ensure high accessibility and quality regarding counseling support, pain management, nutritional issues, and both acute and long-term side effects of treatment.
We have a significant research and education mandate focused on the healthcare of the future. In our work, we leverage the breadth of knowledge and experience we share – together with you, we want to create value for our patients.
Responsibilities
As a nurse in the team at the Follow-up Clinic, you are an active participant in all visits. You plan the clinic by scheduling patient appointments and also follow up with patients via telephone. You perform preparatory work prior to visits. You are available for patients to contact you between visits for telephone advice and/or via 1177.se.
You are a member of national networks with other follow-up clinics and the childhood cancer center across the country to contribute to experience exchange and quality development.
This position is a temporary assignment until a specified end date, with the possibility of extension.
About You
We are looking for a licensed nurse, preferably with professional experience in cancer care.
We place great importance on personal suitability. You are meticulous, confident, and proactive. You are interested in research and development. It is important to us that you are driven to help develop healthcare in a team with the patient at the center. Your ability to work independently, your flexibility, and your collaborative skills are important qualities that will make you a great fit for us.
Interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period.
