As a Project Manager for BEST (Track, Electricity, Signalling, and Telecommunications) at the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket), you will help facilitate daily life for residents and businesses across Sweden. You do this by contributing to the infrastructure of the future. Now you have the opportunity to help realize the new railway line between Gothenburg and Borås.

Responsibilities

The Gothenburg-Borås project is currently working on railway plans for the entire stretch while simultaneously ramping up for the upcoming production phase. We are now seeking a BEST Project Manager who wants to join this exciting journey.

The role involves initially preparing a consultant tender for the design of BEST for the Almedal-Mölndal section, together with a purchaser. You will then lead the awarded consultant, both technically and strategically, during the contract period and are responsible for contract monitoring. You will also work on developing a procurement strategy (system strategy) for the entire program regarding BEST. The BEST Project Manager prepares the requirements from Trafikverket and TEM contractors for the tendering of BEST contractors. You will also assist in developing technical specifications for the total contracts in the Almedal-Mölndal section. Another important part of the role is to collaborate with and support railway planning projects on issues regarding design levels and other technical questions concerning BEST.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you have experience in a leading role within project or design management related to BEST. You work operationally but also strategically, focusing on both your assignment and the program's goals. You communicate clearly and adapt your message to the recipient and situation, both verbally and in writing, and enjoy collaborating with many different stakeholders. You lead and collaborate with others in an engaging and unpretentious way by creating good conditions for others to contribute to common results. You work in a structured manner and have good analytical skills, which allows you to handle complex issues and make well-founded decisions with both short- and long-term perspectives.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree of at least 180 ECTS credits (120 points) in civil engineering or another academic education combined with experience that we collectively assess as equivalent.
• Approximately 10 years of experience in a leading role* with responsibility for BEST in the design and production phases of large and complex railway projects. You must have worked on railway projects linked to existing railway traffic and railway projects that include stations.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• A Class B driver's license.

*By leading role, we mean Project Manager, Assignment Manager, Design Manager, Project Director, and similar roles. Roles such as Design Engineer, Administrator, and similar are not accepted.

It is an advantage if you have experience of:

• Project or design management of BEST as a client.
• Procurement of BEST works in collaboration with contractors.
