Your responsibilities

As an Economic Strategy Officer at the Municipal Administration, you will be responsible for monitoring and improving the municipality's internal control process. The work with the internal control process includes, among other things, municipality-wide coordination, development of internal control work and governing documents, as well as support to the administrations when deficiencies are detected.

The position involves working with the rest of the economic staff on the municipality's interim reports and annual accounts. You will also be responsible for the economic information on the municipality's internal and external websites. The position also includes supporting the municipality's finance chiefs in accounting and internal control issues, as well as working on the development of the municipality's economic processes. In this role, you will work in close collaboration with other colleagues in the economic staff, where it is taken for granted that when needed, you will support each other with tasks within respective areas of responsibility. You will also work as support in the application and reporting of EU project funds.

Your workplace

The Economic Staff is one of the staff units at the Municipal Administration. The Economic Staff contributes to the municipality maintaining good and sustainable economic management in the short and long term. This is done through economic control rules, budgeting, and follow-up in order to have good economic control and ensure a cost-effective and purposeful operation in the municipality.

The Economic Staff also works on municipality-wide local supply, ordering responsibility for procurement, internal control, economic administration, and the municipality's financial activities. The Economic Staff consists of 15 employees and is divided into two parts; Budget, accounting, and strategic local planning, as well as Finance and ownership control.

You who apply

We are looking for you who are a certified economist or have other economic education or experience that the employer considers equivalent. You have several years of experience working with economic accounting, and we consider experience working with internal control to be a merit. Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing is a prerequisite for the role, as you will produce written documents in the position and use the language as a work tool.

As a person, you are used to planning and structuring your work independently while enjoying being part of a team. You are curious and development-oriented and find it easy to see opportunities to streamline and simplify work routines. The assignment will require a lot of contacts, so you need to find it easy to develop good relationships and enjoy close interaction with others.
