Are you ready to take the next step in your career in a global specialist role where you become an expert in international trade and complex export regulations? At Teledyne FLIR, you will have the opportunity to grow into a business-critical role at the intersection of law, technology, and logistics. We are looking for someone with a razor-sharp sense of order who wants to make a real difference in an international environment where no two days are alike!
About the Role
Teledyne FLIR is a world-leading player in advanced sensor technology, whose solutions play a decisive role in defense, emergency services, and industrial monitoring. As part of their global operations, compliance with international trade regulations is not just a legal necessity but a business-critical success factor. Now, they are seeking a GTC Licensing Analyst for their office in Täby – a role for you who want to build a career in the highly relevant and niche area of Global Trade Compliance (GTC).
The Team and Work Environment
In this role, you will become part of a specialist function that serves as the company's internal compass on issues regarding export control and sanctions. You will report to your immediate manager, Elisabeth. The team is characterized by close collaboration where complex international cases are discussed daily. Since no case is like another, open dialogue and the willingness to consult colleagues are highly valued. The environment is international with daily contact points in the USA, Belgium, and Estonia, requiring confidence in communicating in English.
Responsibilities
As a GTC Licensing Analyst, you will serve as a business-critical bridge between law and business. Your responsibility is to ensure that every transaction and shipment complies with Swedish, European, and American regulations (such as ITAR and EAR). The role is administratively heavy, requires high precision, and is crucial for the logistics flow to function without the risk of legal violations.
Your Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and administer applications for export and import licenses, as well as other necessary permits for sales, service, and trade fairs.
- Perform classification of goods according to tariff and rules of origin, and conduct background checks (Due Diligence) on customers and end-users.
- Monitor and interpret international trade regulations to develop and implement effective internal processes and guidelines.
- Act as an expert in customs and trade issues and educate internal stakeholders on applicable regulations.
- Work closely with logistics, procurement, and legal departments to proactively ensure the entire organization complies with applicable requirements.
We Are Looking For You Who
- Hold a relevant post-secondary education or equivalent work experience (logistics, customs handling, international trade, or similar).
- Have a good understanding and interest in export and import processes.
- Have the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations in practice.
- Are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as both languages are used in daily work.
- Are eligible to obtain necessary export control licenses.
It Is Meritorious If You Have
- Knowledge of EU and US export and import regulations.
- Experience in trade compliance, preferably within the aerospace and defense industry.
- Familiarity with Swedish war materiel regulations (ML) and EU regulations for dual-use products (PDA/dual-use).
- Experience applying for Swedish export licenses.
To Succeed in the Role, You Have the Following Personal Qualities:
We believe that you are a highly structured and conscientious person with an eye for detail. The role requires a unique balance of qualities, where you need to be analytical and meticulous enough to dive into complex documentation, while also being social and communicative enough to act as a support function for the organization.
We would prefer that you have a background in logistics, customs handling, or international trade, but your attitude and your ability to learn are the most important. You have a proactive attitude, dare to take initiative, and are motivated to grow into a specialist role over time. Very good knowledge of both Swedish and English is a prerequisite for success.
Our Recruitment Process
This recruitment process is handled by Academic Work, and our client's wish is that all questions regarding the position be sent to Academic Work.
We apply continuous selection and will remove the ad once enough candidates have reached the final stage of the recruitment process. A CV is required when applying. We do not use cover letters as a selection method and therefore do not need them attached. The recruitment process includes two selection tests: a personality test and a cognitive ability test. The tests are a tool to find the candidate with the highest potential for the position and to promote equality, diversity, and a fair recruitment process.
NB:
Due to the high security requirements in the defense industry, you must undergo a background check.
You must be able to work in Sweden, and FLIR performs security checks on all their employees.
You will work on-site from the office in Arninge/Täby.
