We are now looking for claims adjusters for our Children's Illness team in Luleå, a team that handles claims within our children's and maternity insurance. The group currently consists of about 20 employees, and we are now strengthening the team with two new colleagues for a temporary position of at least six months.

This is what you do as a claims adjuster in Children's Illness at Folksam

As a claims adjuster in Children's Illness, you will have a central and meaningful role in meeting customers who are in a changed life situation. You are often their first point of contact after a claim has been submitted, and with your calmness, professionalism, and ability to listen, you help them move forward in a simple and engaged manner.

You take responsibility for resolving the customer's case right from the first contact. You work broadly and variably with customers reporting many different types of illnesses, diagnoses, and functional variations. Here you combine customer contact with qualified assessment of causation issues and medical disability.

This is a job where you get to use both your analytical skills and your ability to meet people with clarity, care, and professionalism.

Your main tasks:

  • Receive and handle claims of varying complexity according to Folksam's regulations.
  • Handle customer calls in our common queue and provide fast and secure service.
  • Assess the right to compensation based on customer information, medical documentation, and insurance terms.
  • Make assessments of causation and medical disability.
  • Communicate and justify compensation decisions clearly – both verbally and in writing.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for someone with experience in a service profession where customer contact is the focus. You are confident in meeting customers via telephone and have a completed upper secondary education as a foundation. You express yourself well in Swedish and have good knowledge of English.

It is an advantage if you have experience in reading and interpreting different types of decision-making documents, such as medical records, decisions from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, court rulings, or police investigations. If you have also worked with claims adjustment or have medical knowledge, we see this as a plus.

As a person, you are structured, responsible, and used to working independently. You are happy to make your own decisions and take initiative when the situation requires it. At the same time, you collaborate well with others and contribute to a good team spirit. In meetings with customers who are in a vulnerable situation, you are calm, attentive, and empathetic. You convey security, maintain focus even when the pace is high, and have a solution-oriented attitude.
