Our Operations

With approximately 26,000 visits per year, the hospital's emergency department plays a central role in our operations. The emergency department is available 24/7 for acute visits. We receive patients of all ages with various diagnoses, many of whom are children. Our outpatient clinics and surgical operations have an elective profile with a focus on surgery, orthopedics, urology, and gynecology. Our department also includes a ward where we primarily care for orthopedic patients following joint replacement surgery. Together with our partner, Akademiska Sjukhuset in Uppsala, our mission is to ensure the region's care across different levels.

Your Assignment

Typical duties for a licensed junior doctor. You will start working on the ward and at the emergency department. Over time, you will be rotated into the primary on-call line, giving you the opportunity to further develop your skills in outpatient work and on the surgical ward. On-call work is performed around the clock. On evenings and weekends, there is a backup on-call duty from home. The work is independent but with supervision and support from specialists or senior doctors in surgery, orthopedics, or urology. Here you get breadth, while also having the opportunity to focus on one of these profile areas, providing a great start to your future career.

Your Qualifications

Licensed physician. We consider experience working in an emergency department as an asset. We are looking for a licensed physician with an interest in surgical operations such as surgery, orthopedics, or urology. You should be able to work independently in the ER, naturally with support from experienced colleagues when needed.

Your Competence

You have good judgment, strong collaborative skills, are accustomed to solving problems, and are responsible and flexible. You continuously maintain your knowledge. You work in an evidence-based manner with the patient's best interests in focus and create a good working climate for yourself and your colleagues. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.

Fixed-term employment with the possibility of extension, full-time with supervision. Start date upon agreement. We interview and hire continuously.
