Our Operations

The Surgery Department in Enköping focuses on elective surgery. The department includes our surgical ward with 12 beds, specializing in orthopedics, as well as occasional surgical and urological patients. Primarily, we care for orthopedic patients who have undergone hip and knee replacements with short stays, focusing on mobilization after surgery with planned early discharge.

Teamwork is central to the ward and consists of ward physicians, day-call doctors, surgeons from various specialties, as well as nurses, assistant nurses, and physiotherapists. We use the Cosmic medical record system.

Your Assignment

Are you a doctor at the beginning of your career with a holistic view and an interest in ward work? Are you looking for valuable experience before your AT, BT, or other contract positions? We offer you the opportunity to start your career through a contract position on our ward. The tasks are typical duties for junior doctors on an inpatient ward, with a focus primarily on orthopedic care, though surgical and urological patients also occur.

We work in teams with a holistic perspective on the patient. As a ward doctor, you are expected to be the central figure for ward rounds and a cohesive link in patient care in consultation with senior doctors and nurses. Your tasks mainly involve leading the team work together with your responsible specialist and optimizing care to enable mobilization and planning for discharge. Your work on the ward is independent but supervised and supported by more experienced colleagues in surgery, orthopedics, or urology.

If you are licensed and depending on clinical experience and personal suitability, you may, upon extension of the contract, have the opportunity to work in our emergency department and begin your development in outpatient work and on the operating ward. On the ward, you see post-operative patient care; in the ER, you see the breadth of medicine, while outpatient work and assisting in surgery offer opportunities to learn more. Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has completed medical education with a degree or already holds a license, with an interest in developing within the surgical specialty. Great importance is placed on personal suitability. We consider it meritorious if you have clinical experience as a contract junior doctor on a ward and previous experience working in an emergency department. Sometimes language, routines, care, medical procedures, or e.g., the medical record system may differ from what you have experienced before. If you express a need for more planned support and supervision to develop as a doctor, we are open to that.

You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. We see that you are a stable and reliable person who takes responsibility in your work and enjoys collaborating in a team.

We Offer

Fixed-term employment, contract position, full-time with possibilities for extension. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30. Other tasks and working hours can be discussed upon agreement.
