Special Needs Teacher for Resource School in Östersund

Östersund Municipality is seeking a Special Needs Teacher for the Resource School in Östersund. The position is based at the resource school on Frösön and is aimed at you who wish to contribute with special pedagogical competence in working with students in need of extensive special support and a holistic perspective on learning and the compensatory mission.

The Resource School is a school with approximately 25 students who meet students with autism. Our school is an inspiring workplace where we put the student at the center. Everyone should feel participation, responsibility, respect, and security. At the Resource School, we have a positive view of students and high expectations. We have a language-developing approach in all activities and take our roles as adult role models seriously. Collegial learning is central for everyone at the school; we learn from and with each other to develop the operation. Our goal is to create a good operation with a high level of knowledge and great social competence together with parents and students, giving our students the best conditions to succeed in life. Job Responsibilities

As a Special Needs Teacher, you will work at the individual, group, and organizational levels. The assignment includes:

• conducting pedagogical assessments and investigations
• participating in work with extra adaptations and special support
• mentoring and supporting pedagogical staff
• leading the student health team's work
• collaborating with guardians and external actors
• leading the school's systematic quality work

Qualifications

• degree in special pedagogy
• teacher's license
• good knowledge of students' different needs and conditions
• extensive experience of working with Prorenata
• good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing

It is an advantage if you have experience of working in a resource school or similar operation.

Personal Qualities

You work in a structured manner, have good collaboration skills, and are secure in your professional role. You have a professional approach and can work independently within your assignment. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
