Application Manager in Diagnostic Testing

We are looking for a colleague for a varied and exciting role as an Application Manager in the management of Diagnostic Testing systems to help develop the future IT environment for laboratory medicine.

About the Position

As an application manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the systems within Diagnostic Testing meet the needs of the operations, working alongside our application specialists.

Currently, an exciting transformation is underway to consolidate application specialists from all laboratory disciplines under a single department head in the Management of Diagnostic Testing. Here, you as an application manager will be an important piece of the puzzle.

Your main responsibility as an application manager will be to lead application specialists in various projects and in daily operations by establishing, executing, and following up on project plans. You will also participate in the establishment of routines and process descriptions.

Together with your department head, you will participate in the work of developing proposals for budget documentation and continuously report status to them as well as to our operational managers within diagnostic testing.

In this role, you will also collaborate with staff from Medical Technology, Region Halland's IT and digitalization operations, as well as external suppliers. The application manager works within the processes defined in Region Halland's management model for systems/applications.

In this assignment, you are expected to continuously engage in dialogue with relevant suppliers, participate in procurement, acquisition, and implementation of systems on behalf of the application owner.

In the event of a critical or important incident, you will communicate with the operations. You will also be involved in information work, in some cases based on IT/Teleservice delivery processes.

About the Workplace

The Management of Diagnostic Testing consists of Clinical Pathology and Cytology, Clinical Microbiology and Infection Control, as well as Clinical Chemistry and Transfusion Medicine. Operations are conducted in Kungsbacka, Varberg, Falkenberg, and Halmstad. Approximately 300 employees work within our organization.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Post-secondary education deemed relevant for the position
• Experience in implementation and management of systems
• Competence and experience with integrations
• Experience working in a process-oriented manner and leading projects
• Documented experience in driving IT projects
• Good system competence and the ability to see your role in a larger context

Preferred qualifications include:

• Documented project management experience
• Experience with laboratory systems (LIS)
• Documented knowledge of information security/GDPR
• Familiarity with database and server environments
• Experience in healthcare

It is essential that you are communicative and have a good ability to collaborate and build positive relationships with various partners. Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form is a requirement. Personal suitability will be given great importance.
