The Furniture Pool business group is an operation within EDV, the Daily Activities Unit, aimed at individuals with mild intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. The operation is conducted in collaboration with Gavlefastigheter. The goal of the Furniture Pool business group is to provide stimulating tasks based on individual wishes and abilities. At the Furniture Pool, we work with furniture reuse on behalf of Gävle municipality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Within EDV, we actively work with user influence, and our work is based on a pedagogical approach and working method (PFA) that clarifies and adapts tasks according to each individual. You should be able to work independently based on goals, guidelines, activities, and individual implementation plans. Together with a colleague or individually, you are responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating, and developing the operation.
- Provide users with the right support and opportunities to develop based on their individual conditions.
- Plan and implement both individually adapted and group-based activities.
- Work in a structured manner and meet users at their level to create safety and development.
- Contribute to a safe and inclusive environment with the user at the center, together with colleagues.
- Work according to IBIC, plan, document, evaluate, and establish individual implementation plans.
- Independently guide and support users at both individual and group levels and make decisions within the operational guidelines.
- Perform tasks such as receiving, distributing, cleaning, and simple repairs of furniture.
- Handle regular lifting and moving of furniture.
- Work independently when solitary work occurs and ensure that tasks are performed safely and professionally.
The Furniture Pool business group is a group aimed at individuals with mild intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.
QUALIFICATIONS
As a support assistant in the Furniture Pool, it is important that you are confident in your professional role, work pedagogically, and have a strong commitment to the target group. An interest in reuse is advantageous and may make the position particularly suitable for you.
Formal competencies:
- Care and nursing program, child and leisure program with a focus on social work, support assistant training, or other vocational training at the upper secondary level aimed at the target group.
- Good knowledge and experience of working within LSS. At least two years of experience within the target group.
- Driver's license (B)
- Experience in documentation within LSS, social journals, and implementation plans.
- Training or knowledge in low-affect responses.
If you have experience working individually with individual users and experience working with reuse or furniture renovation, it is an advantage for the position.
